a question about "verify written data" option at cd-da data burning?

i made a disc image of a audio cd,and try to burn it with nero burning room.i found the function "verify written data" is avaliable at the burning options.however,as i have heard before that the way drives offset audio samples when reading/writing cd-da data, this implies what you write to a specific sector isn't what you'll get back when you read it.if so ,does it mean the verify process under the case would fail in most of the conditions ?
