Cannot change album cover

When I try to add an album cover from Explorer, the button "Change cover" is grey-setted.
This happened when I upgraded to the 1.30.3200 - version of Media Home Unlimited (I installed "prerequisite installer 4.0".
Before that it wasn ́t grey-setted.
After all (even with the older version) it was absolutely impossible to import album covers!! (Explorer opened, chose from a folder jpg. and tried to open it - nothing happens).
Nero support told me there might be problems with my installed "Microsoft NET.Framework",but I even installed windows from anew and installed all possible updates - nothing happened.Gracenote only shows sometimes the album covers,si I really want to import them somehow.
Did anybody have the same problems or can help out? Thanks

  • Drastic solution. Do not get off any updates over Nero's what I'll do. Sincerely, a user

  • I just went through this with someone in another thread. I think I asked them to contact tech support but the person didn't report back.

What I found is that if one has the multiple tracks from one album, sometimes the album cover is only shown for one of the tracks. In some cases, I could go into the album information and click on the option to change or delete covers and sometimes I couldn't.

If tech support said there may be a problem with .net framework, did they tell what to do?

  • Hello again,
what I did was as follows:
Contacted "tech support" with my problem.
They said: 1)A step-by-step description of how I proceded.
    2)Error messages as a screenshot.
    3)The Nero support cab.log archive
    That's what I did.
After a while they sent me a repair tool for NET.Framework issues (they said maybe it wasn't properly installed.
The repair tool (by microsoft) (as it wasn't able to solve the problem) sent data directly to windows.
    That's it.

  • here's something to try-

Open the Windows Control Panel, Programs and Features.

Find Microsoft .net framework 4.5.2. Click on it and select Uninstall/Change. Select the Repair option. Let it run. Reboot your computer. Then try changing the album cover again.

Even though they are the experts, I don't think this is the solution. If it doesn't work, then go back to them.

  • I’m confused
I have found the exact same issue with the button called "Change Cover" grayed out in NERO MediaHome 2016 Platinum in the Media Info flyout. The GraceNote connection didn't find an album cover, so I wanted to add one manually as per the user manual which says...

"CHANGE COVER - Allows you to replace the current cover with a picture located on your hard drive, or to remove the current cover. Unlike cover art obtained
through Gracenote, personal pictures located on your hard drive which
you set as cover art can be transferred to mobile devices. Additionally,
cover art might not be available for every album, so you can use this
function to add the respective picture. "

But, the button is not functional. Even if you double click the "generic" album cover, and File Explorer opens and you select a picture to use, nothing happens when you select one.

I also installed the latest .NET Framework, but this did not change the behavior.

  • I don't know if Andreas ever went back to tech support. I've probably asked people a few thousand times to let me know what tech support has to say. It happens very infrequently so a person with the same problem doesn't get any benefit from the forum. It's off to tech support if you have either v2015 or v2016.

  • I’m unsure
I'm sorry, I thought this WAS tech support. The top of the page says "Nero AG employees are here to help."

I'll see what I can find via other avenues, and I'll be sure to post back here when / if I find a solution.
