  • Yes. In the Help file, search on Copy. Select Devices. It will tell you how to set up the copy function.

  • I have my IPAD listed under "Devices" on the left. I select some photos , either mark them or select them under "Photos & Video" but "copy to " is not an option I can click on when I click on "more"

  • Peter,

    I've tried with three devices:

iPod: Available as an import device - no "Copy to .." menu entry.
iPad: Available as an import device - no "Copy to .." menu entry.
Kindle Fire HD: Available as an import device - "Copy to .." menu entry also available.

  • I'm at a disadvantage because I don't have any of those kind of devices.

When you click on a device and select Device Settings, can you set up the Export to enable copy operations?

  • Of course. I made a reference to the pertinent part of the help file above.

    • It doesn't refer to apple directly. NMH work is supposed to work with any device you attach. What I was referring to is a section which mentions that if you click on a device in the navigation pane, you should get three tabs. One of those is Device Settings. In there, there should be an option for settings for Export. That's where you enable the copy function. My sentence structure is awful.
    • The Nero manuals, like many others, are notorious for their lack of specificity. Since you don't have any devices and cannot check on what you are saying, would you please check with your back channel resources to find out for sure whether the manual is misleading, the MediaHome needs fixed, or both?

  • As you know, I don't have any "back channel sources" at Nero. I correspond with tech support in the same manner as everyone else. And you also know, I leave it to the people who start a thread to correspond with tech support.

All I ask is that you try it. I have my cell phone with me but I don't have my mini-USB cable that I use to connect it with my computers. Remember, I'm on vacation and not at home (glad I got that security system. :))

    • Peter simply wants to have his question answered, "Can Nero MediaHome2014 copy from the PC it is installed on to an attached ipad2". I discovered that the "Copy to ..." menu entry is active for my Kindle Fire HD when I select photos, but it is not active for my Apple devices. So, it would seem that what is required is for someone who KNOWS to simply speak. You clearly do not KNOW.
    • I more or less already said I didn't know but I asked a simple question that you and Peter could check very easily. nough said.

  • Peter,

When I select a video instead of a photo, the "Copy to ..." is enabled for my Apple devices. It seems to me that there is an error in the MediaHome software that should be reported to techsupport@nero.com referencing this topic. Perhaps they can clarify what the manual has to say or have the software fixed.

  • Dear Peter Burge,

solving this problem without a detailed error analysis isn't possible. The technical support team will be glad to assist you in solving this issue by analyzing it individually. Please follow the steps below and send the generated logs by e-mail.

    1. Download the file "GetSupportFiles.zip" from
    http://www.nero.com/link.php?topic_id...
    to your hard disk.

    2. Unzip the file with WinZip or WinRAR and save the content to your hard drive.

    3. Double-click on the unzipped EXE-file to start the tool.

    4. After the tool has run successfully, the file "NeroSupport.cab" will be available on your desktop.

    5. Please send us this file as an attachment as well as a brief problem description with your next email. Send your e-mail to techsupport@nero.com and enter "Nero Forum" to the subject line.
    • ChristianZ,

Actually, it would be just great if Peter could get his question answered. He has described his problem; I have verified it and expanded upon it. It would seem that someone like yourself could simply open Nero MediaHome, connect an Apple device, etc., consult with the MediaHome team, and then answer the question.

It has been four days! And, now that a Nero employee arrives, it's just smurf nonsense.

  • Thanks ChristianZ.
I do not get an error. "copy to" is not active to click on when I have an IPAD2 connected and I have photos selected.
Can you advise, when you connect an IPAD2 and select a photo you can" copy to " from the PC to the IPAD?
Does it work, has anyone ever got it to work?

  • Wither 1,

I am posting the below image simply to satisfy your curiosity. Note that whatever you think is in the help file, isn't.

What is required here is for ChristianZ or some other Nero employee to simply apologize for this obvious software error and promise to fix it soon! Or, perhaps, to actually state that this bizarre situation was intended. In any case, it's difficult to see how you can be of assistance in this matter since you have already mentioned not owning Apple devices.

  • Why didn't you post that long ago when I asked the question? Is there an Export option under Photo or Video? Are you in the Photo and Video portion of NMH when you select those settings?
    • Let me just repeat myself.

There's no .CAB file required, no screenshots required, no detailed error analysis required, and certainly no need for continued random questioning.

Peter has asked a simple question that you have no answer for, so why do you persist?

  • I'm asking the question because the help file indicates that there should be the ability to choose Export options under the Device Settings. If it's not there, then either the Help file is incorrect or there's a software problem.

You can respond but I'm going to take this thread off my watched list since I have no other suggestions.

    • I've been on vacation, away from home, for the last week.

I don't know what's under the individual options in the screenshot you provided. It's apparent that going back and forth with me will not help to resolve this problem and that tech support isn't going to post in this thread. The latter is more realistic since it's now the weekend. I'm done with this one.
    • Well, as I said before, I have posted the Device Settings above. If you are unable to see it, why not just take my word that the options available do not include a way to enable/disable exporting? Would you just do that?

  • I'm home now.

I inserted a thumb drive. I then went to Device Settings and, for Photos, chose "convert to .png". I opened Photos and Videos and selected Find. I browsed to a photo on my hard drive. I clicked on it and right clicked. I selected "Copy to" and then the thumb drive (only device listed). After the copy, the file was on the thumb drive as a .png.

I then repeated the above but changed the Device Settings for a photo to "do not convert". I selected another photo, as above, and did everything the same way, the file was copied to the thumb drive in the original format.

    • It's obvious you don't want to address my findings despite the fact that I did what you actually asked me to do and it worked. I tried to do it with my cell phone but neither of my systems will recognize it any more. I'm done. Bye.
    • Wither 1,

You have made no findings relevant to this topic. Please try to understand that. You have been asking irrelevant questions, making irrelevant comments, and, generally, completely misinterpreting the help file and the topic.

Moreover, you accuse me, saying, "I guess you don't want to admit that you're wrong.".

I notice that you've been "commenting" rather than "replying". Does that have the same effect on your reply count?
