Editing and burning 3D HD files and movies

Hello,

I have just become a user of Nero 15 HD Platinum /upgraded from Nero 11/. One of the things I wish to do is to make full use of my Sony 3D HD Handycam recording camera, and more detailed - to edit the 3D HD videos, recorded on it. For example creating homogenic movies from several files, adding templates, and still keeping the 3D back-to-back files integrated with the main file, and then burning the result on Blu-ray disc as an integrated 3D combination file?

Yesterday I spent my afternoon and early evening to try things in that respect. Since I didn't want to waste a Blu ray disc, I safely decided to burn the separate /non-integrated in a whole movie/ files along with the side-by-side back files simply as data information on a blank Blu ray disc, even not divided into folders. Although my hi-class Sony 3D blu ray player didn't automatically detect the 3D signal, but it did when I pressed the 3D button - and then automatically matched the respective side-to-side files /I have named them equally/. Still, despite this success, I wish I could edit the files, make whole movies, make menus to them and burn the integrated project on Blu ray disc, or even on HDD.

Thank you in advance!

  • You would do all that in Nero Video. However, Nero Video doesn't create 3D video. If you want to do extensive editing, then you should start out in Make Advanced Movie.

  • When you import your 3D files into Nero Video and burn them as BD-MV, they will no longer be 3D. Although the following is 4 years old, it gives you some insight into burning 3D-

I didn't do an exhaustive search to see if the situation has improved.

If you want to burn the 3D files and other files to disc, then you would need to burn a data disc. Not all players recognize them.

If you edit the 3D files with Nero Video, they will no longer be 3D.

If you want more details on editing, we'll be more than happy to get you through that. Just say the word. It's too late right now for me to go into details.

  • I can't believe four years later noone can help with this. Weren't we living in the space era... Nero issues version after version, saying what a great software it is, providing even 4K editing, but is still unable to provide a 3D recording editing capabilities.

Regading burning the files as data disc, I did that myself already before I wrote here, and it's playable on my Sony 3D BD players, although 3D signal is not recognized automatically, I need to activate the 3D fucntion of the player manually. But it keeps the symmetry between the two picture files and proceeds to the next couple of files automatically. Maybe it matters that the 3D content was recorded also by Sony equipment, but anyway it works.

I would install the full version of the Sony Play Memories software, which says to be able to merge movies, but the problem is that my OS is Windows XP, SP 3, while this program requires high version, so in order to use it, I will have to change my OS with a newer one. Seems too complicated. So I will try to install the software on another PC that I use, with Windows 7 and see what happens.
