Jerky playback streaming to Sony BDV E2100 bluray player

Nero 2016 MediaHome is giving jerky (Juddering, jolting) playback when streaming to a Sony BDV E2100 - This started to happen about 2 weeks ago, before that the streaming was okay. I have tried checking Enable Hardware deinterlacing & Enable hardware acceleration - that has not solved the problem - I have checked for updates on the Bluray player and Nero - they are both up to date

  • Have you tried disabling Transcode Videos in the Streaming options?

  • I had not tried that - I have now and it made things worse the video would not play at all

    • Have you tried moving the "slider" between quality and Performance in the Streaming drop-down?

Also, if this is streaming via wireless ... is it possible that you have placed an object between your Wireless router and the Blu-Ray player in the last 2 weeks ... a Christmas Tree or other decoration that could be interrupting the signal?
    • I like your answer. In addition, I think he should disable both of the other options that he said earlier he had enabled. If his video is progressive, there's no reason to deinterlace it. Depending on the driver he's using, hardware acceleration may not be available. Hardware acceleration is a slippery slope, as far as I'm concerned.

  • I’m frustrated
Thanks - I have not tried moving the quality and performance slider - my next mission. The Bluray player is on a Cat 6 cabled router so there should not be a problem with connection - and they did play on the same system up until about 3 weeks ago!
I do have the deinterlaced unchecked.
Yesterday I spent much time trying various setting and trying to stream various video types - I had thought it was mainly MKV's & M2TS - my early home movies, that was the problem but I found that that nearly all of my MP4's play - strangely not all, again the same with AVI's and all of my MKV's will not stream a smooth playback - as said a lot will not play at all. All these video's I am able to stream directly form my NAS drive to another LG Bluray cinema system not via Nero - If I could find out how to connect my NAS drive directly to my Sony BDV E2100 and stream movies from there I would - I have been a Nero user for numerous years - and feel very disappointed with Nero 2016

  • I don't know why you have deinterlacing enabled.

If things were working okay up until two weeks ago, I don't know why you would be disappointed in Nero. There haven't been any updates to v2016 in that period so it sounds like something else is going on with your system.

Have you tried cleaning up temporary files on your hard drive using something like the Windows Disk Cleanup utility?

You can get Nero technical support by going to nero.com, support, contact, technical support. Fill out the contact form and submit it.

I've just tried every combination in the hope of getting a resolution.

Are you joking? The software is supposed to be designed to work on my computer, not the other way around. My computer was not designed to run Nero. Do you blame the roads or the environment when your car fails? Of the thousands of applications I have written, I have never blamed the OS (Okay, once, then it was their fault - I got a letter (yes, back in them old days!!) back with an apology, thanks for my help AND a bottle of vintage champagne). If the author knows it depends on other people's software there needs to be checks that it is still valid.

Have you tried cleaning up temporary files on..
I am sure I have, but to make sure I will try this - Thanks

You can get Nero technical support...
    Thanks for this suggestion.

  • I wasn't joking. It's obvious something has happened to cause Nero to go from functioning to not functioning. Since Nero hasn't changed, what on your system has?

Let me know what tech support has to say.
