I’m frustrated and annoyed!

Nero Video constantly shutting down mid-edits

nero 2015 platinum's Video keeps constantly saying there is a problem with the program and shuts down in the middle of editing! For example, every time I go to cut the video, then return to the regular hand icon, a window pops up saying that nero video has experienced a fatal program error and windows is shutting it down. Very annoying and how can I fix this?? I use at home and at work to do our performance DVDs and the delays due to this continual glitch are ridiculous. Please help.

  • Hi Helen,
Maybe there is some issue with the amount of free space for temporary files on your system?

Doing a Windows disk cleanup utility run might help.

Another thing to try is to check in Nero Video Options / Application Settings / Editing
that you have "Enable Nero background rendering" selected. (It might make a difference).

The other thing sometimes suggested to solve odd behavior with Nero Video is to clean out the "cache" folders ... a little more complicated, but might be worth a try:

    Where to do the deleting:

(You need to substitute your Windows user name in place of "YOUR USER NAME")

    For Nero 2015 :

Delete the folder "Nero Vision" at
    C:\users\YOUR USER NAME\AppData\Local\Nero\Nero 16

    Delete the folder "SharedMediaData" at
    C:\users\YOUR USER NAME\AppData\Local\Nero

Delete the folder "Nero Vision" at
    C:\users\YOUR USER NAME\AppData\Roaming\Nero\Nero 16

Note: The above folders are usually "hidden" folders in Windows, so you might have to use the "View" Tab in Windows File Explorer to show hidden files from C:\users\YOUR USER NAME
    and below.

If the above does not help, perhaps raising a Tech Support ticket would be best ...

You can use the "Contact Form" from here for example:
