Nero Video DVD to Blu-ray template issues

Nero video 2015 switch from DVD to Blu-ray and menus options get corrupted. The background audio dropped in the main menu and audio is choppy on the two other sub menu screens. Icon for the 1st submenu disappeared, but still can click on the words to select. The 2nd sub-menu works fine. Go back to the DVD project (which was the first one it was set-up for) and it is fine. What gives?

  • I have the very same issue. The menu audio works when I view the project, but when I burn the final BD-r, the main menu audio is missing. Fix this buggy software please!!

  • If you're using v2015 or earlier, there won't be any more updates.

Did you do any menu customizations like adding buttons or moving buttons?

  • No, I did not tick the advanced menu option. Just added background audio and chose fit to duration. I have tried it on both modes with no audio on the main menu. I did look at the stream on the disc and the audio is there. Nero is stopping the pmayback at 1 second. Audio in the video is not always consistent. Using M2t files from my Canon broadcast HD camera with a Fsh-200pro on it. Posted this issue many months ago.

  • I see that what you posted many months ago is that you had moved on to other software. That thread didn't deal with the subject of this thread.

The particular problem reported in this thread was fixed in the first update to v2016. Unfortunately, that doesn't do a thing for people using earlier versions.

In addition, that doesn't address what you're saying about the audio for the video itself. That's a separate issue that should be addressed in another thread.

  • I’m frustrated
So... if Nero will not fix software till the next version.. where is my and others free upgrade? Why not fix it for those who PAID to have working software? Before the 2015 version, I had no problems processing compliant M2T streams and authoring DVD or Blu-ray video. I had to buy SONY Movie Studio 13 to fix all the Nero issues! Now all of us who paid for 2015 are screwed and have to pay to "upgrade" to a working product that should had been fixed. I have paid for years to upgrade to the next Nero from version 6!! This question was put in a general thread to get a response, and took a long time to get it! Seems Nero will update once and that is it. If you work for Nero, send me a free upgrade to make up for this, since there is no way to fix it in my version.

  • What we're talking about here is a problem that occurs when you create a DVD-Video project and switch to a blu-ray project.

If the problems you're describing in regards to authoring occur when you start out in Blu-ray disc, then we can get into that

  • And yes, it does it even if the project starts out as a Blu-ray. Audio starts for 1 second and stops for the main menu audio. If you look at the stream folder and find the file there and play it, the audio is there. Seems to be a file that is looked at by the player or software (tried both), that says to only play the audio for 1 second. The sub-menu audio files play fine.

  • If you're using an animated menu, change the animation time to a max of 30 seconds and then check the box to fit to audio duration.

  • I have already tried that on 2 different machines. It should work on any of the menus, but the point is that in the preview on the computer ,it works. In the stream folder on the Blu-ray and the computer image it works., but when the disc is put into any player, no audio. The DVD version of the same material, the audio works. Does not matter if I put 30 or 60 seconds for duration or tick the fit to duration, it does not work on the final media when played. It should not care it you use 2d standard, animated or 3d animated, it should behave the same for either DVD or Blu.

  • What do you mean by computer image?

Just to be clear, you're saying that you're not getting any audio in the menus when you play the disc in a standalone player but you are getting it in the stream itself?
