  • For v9 and earlier, uninstall is done with the Nero General Clean Tool because those versions didn't use a Windows installer.

I think you should be able to run it in your OS. However, instead of installing from the disc, go here- http://www.nero.com/enu/downloads/pre... and download the v8 update. I assume you have a purchased serial number for v8 ultra. I don't know where you got it but I hope it's not been used by anyone else except yourself.

Yes, you can create a DVD-Video in Nero Vision using your AVI file.

  • Your welcome.

You should still download v8 since it has all the updates and plug-ins.

I'm not sure what you mean about losing what Nero program you have. In general, different versions of Nero from v9 and earlier don't work well together when installed side by side. I have v9 installed on one hard drive and v8 installed on another hard drive on this system.

Actually, you should be able to burn the DVD-Video on your OEM package as long as the .avi doesn't contain one of the video formats that require patent activation (.mpeg-4, .mts and .m2ts). I would recommend v8 since it contains fixes to v7 and, obviously, v6, and other enhancements.
