In my experience this is neither true for the website nor for the iOS app, I just checked again and found perfectly moving GIFs within seconds. Could you provide details/a sample?

I can't provide further examples at the moment but as far as I know they don't work properly at least at http://feeds2.feedburner.com/imgfave/...
