I want to pay more

When I signed up to Newsblur, there were $2 and $3 a month payment options for the premium membership.

Well, you know what? I want to pay more. I want to express my appreciation to Sam and make a little more sure that my favorite web app stays around.

I wish there was a way to give more of my money to Newsblur. A few ideas:
- T-Shirt, sticker, coffee mug etc...
- A higher tier supporter membership option that somehow doesn't rob any features away from the regular premium members
- Lifetime memberships

BTW, as for a Newsblur t-shirt, I would personally find it more wearable if the Newsblur text/logo was small and/or subtle. (Or even better would be if Newsblur was simply referenced by a clever in-joke or whatever)

I wouldn't want to feel like a human billboard afterall.

I'm not really a fan of t-shirts, but one way to pay more would be a bounty system for new features.

I also wanted to pay more but found that, once you had signed up, there was no real way to go back and say "I would like to pay at a higher rate." Help me!

I've noticed that the lifetime membership option was discussed before and that Sam has decided against it.

An alternative could be to pay a hefty sum of money for a long time membership. (Something like $100 or more for a 5 year membership.) I could prefer something along these lines just for the sake of not having to care about Paypal (or whatever gets to be Newsblur's payment processor along the years) after a single payment. Reliable online payments are a pain in the ass especially if you're not from the US and/or keep moving from one country to another.

Newsblur could maybe extort even more money by offering such a deal as a part of a one time fund drive that also includes Kickstarter style rewards.

I like the idea of a NewsBlur t-shirt. Once I launch social, I may consider putting up a nice 50/50 cotton t-shirt with a small NewsBlur logo in the center.

I really should get around to making a proper account management dialog, where you can delete your account, see how long you have left in your subscription, switch to Stripe.js from Paypal (uhh, or the other way around). Soon as I launch social.

Oh, right, the important part. Paying more is a nice symbol, but I'd be *much* happier if you evangelized NewsBlur. A one-time payment is nice and all, but getting more premium users is the biggest help of all. I might add a "give more" button to that new account dialog.
