For IOS app: will there be a "night" theme added? Dying for a night theme, as reading in the dark can be quite a strain on the eyes. Some recent apps I used (before going all in for newsblur) had them and were quite nice (digg & feedly).

Yeah, I would absolutely love to do this. I certainly don't have the time to do this anytime soon, but the code is open to anybody who wants to make this happen. A night theme is usually easy to build, and you can easily add a preference for it (or even I could do the dirty work if somebody takes the time to invert all the coors).

Glad I'm not the only one. I'd be glad to help if I had the skill set.

If/when this gets implemented it would be great to support the two solarized themes: http://ethanschoonover.com/solarized

Colors are all over the place. You would have to know iOS development to be able to do it. But if you do, it's not a ton of work. I don't have it very highly prioritized because few are asking for it. It also involves some dancing with settings, since you'll want to be able to turn it on and off (although this part is pretty easy).

Just curious if anyone has had a chance to look into this further and if this may be implemented anytime in the near future?
Bumping this thread, this is on my wish list for the Android app! Would be perfect for late night feed reading in bed. :)

Yes, this would be a super feature. It would really complete the IOS/Android app. I'd prefer not to look at other apps and continue to use and support the native newsblur one.

Crude workaround I use with Newsblur and Safari: Use the invert colors shortcut in accessibility. http://www.reddit.com/r/apple/comment...

Checking on if there is any current plan to put this sort of function into the newsblur IOS app in the near future?

A 'solution' is to switch to Unread, which has many theme and is a great app. Some more details at: http://blog.newsblur.com/post/8373774...

I'd love to see it as well. I do a lot of reading at night and the light background is sometimes painful to my eyes.

I haven't tried the Unread app yet. I was hoping to stay on the native app.

I gave the Unread app a shot, just can't dig it. I much prefer the native IOS newsblur app.
The themes Unread uses are great though. Is there any way to port them or similar functionality into the newsblur app? I would gladly pay for the app with themes!
Love newsblur and will gladly keep using it, but would be much happier with native app themes. I currently use the app more than I use the web version.

I've got a substantial update coming soon for iOS - saved story tagging and search are both done. I'm consider additional features, although a dark theme may take a bit longer.

Thanks for the response/update Samuel! Best newsreader around, by a mile! Night theme would take it to another level.

A dark theme for the iOS app would make the app perfect for me. Right now I tend to use Alien Blue and read reddit at night since it has a dark theme and save the newsblur app for daylight hours.
