If you are a volunteer or just an observer, you will see us constantly asking people if their config.xml and index.html. This is because to use Phonegap Build requires both those files to be in the same directory.

One question that we (the volunteers) often wonder about, is was this always the case? and if not, when did it change.

The answer is Jan 31, 2014.

On Feb 10, 2014, DevGirl (Holly Schinsky) made this blog entry:

3 Cordova CLI Changes You Should Know About
http://devgirl.org/2014/02/10/3-cordova-cli-changes/

(...) you should be aware of some recent tool updates that help make things easier when you update to this latest version (Cordova CLI version 3.3.1-0.3.1).

1. The config.xml file is created in the project root now (no longer in www folder)

The Blog posts:
Tools Release: Jan 31, 2014
https://cordova.apache.org/news/2014/01/31/tools-release.html

(...) Today's release is action packed!

- plugman@0.19.0
- cordova@3.3.1-0.3.1

(...)

This release brings with it a plethora of bug fixes as well as some new features! Notably:

- config.xml now lives at the project root by default (instead of within www/)

Here is another good blog post:

Although this blog post talks about CLI, you use the table at the bottom of the post.
It has Old ID and NPM ID

This appears to be an interesting habit of yours, Jesse. You wonder about something, yet claim that multiple persons are doing so, too.
Could you please be so kind to speak for yourself?

(The same goes for the term 'volunteer'. You call yourself such person - and you are of course free to do so- , but who are the others? I have never seen anyone else do so at this community.)

Okay.
I put the label "volunteer" on my post so that OPs do not confuse me as a Phonegap employee.

That's beyond the point. You are free to do so.
But you mentioned "we (the volunteers)", who "often wonder...".
Who are the others?

(I can imagine that you don't like this kind of feedback, Jesse. There's a simple solution: don't do these things. Speak for yourself, and don't claim that others think like you do, just in order to emphasize your point.)
