I have been uploading and building Phonegap apps for several months without any issues. However, as of yesterday, I started getting the above error along with a message that states "no index.html present" when trying to upload my ZIP. Of course, index.html does exist, so the message is bogus. Help!

Hi Thomas,

It could be that the zip file was malformed, or that the index.html file is not located in the root folder of the zip file's compressed content.

Can you confirm that the two are not the cause of the issue? If it's still the case, kindly send us a copy of your zip upload to pgb.pubsupp@gmail.com so we can try and recreate the issue on our end.

Hello Yiming,

Thanks for your quick reply. I sent the ZIP file to pgb.pubsupp@gmail.com. As you noted, we confirmed that index.html is at the root of the ZIP and that the ZIP is well-formed. I even stripped our code to just a single index.html file containing "Hello World", and I still get the same error.

Hi Thomas,

I received the build zip file, the PGB server appears to accept it just fine. Can you try it out again and see if the issue still persists on your end?

I tried uploading the same ZIP file, and it still gives me the error. Here is what it says:

Also, notice that the version is showing as 3.0.39. The ZIP file contains 3.0.40. So, it doesn't look like PhoneGap is accepting our ZIP.

We tried uploading using Google Chrome and IE 11... neither worked.

That's a little odd. Try deleting the app and create a new one.

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled No index.html present.

I recently started getting "no index.html present" error whenever I try to upload a ZIP. I have been using PhoneGap Build for several months without any issues. However, as of today, I'm getting this weird error. The ZIP definitely contains index.html file. So, the message is probably wrong, and there is some other issue that's causing this. Can someone please help? Our AppID is 914794.

I deleted the app and created a new one, and now it works. As you said, it's odd that it didn't work with the existing app. Thanks for your help!

I have been having this problem too. The solution you mentioned works but I end up having to delete the app every second or third try. This renders hydration useless, which is merely inconvenient now but will be a real problem as we get closer to production. Any further insight on why this is happening?

So now we have started to experience this exact problem. Suddenly, after using the service for 2 years, we start to get both "no index.html file" and "Error uploading file, please try again [50]". What is going on?

They threw in cli-6.0.0, as usual without decent testing. Most likely, they are now trying to correct some errors while in live environment, again without announcement.
It's been like that for the past, oh, six months or so.

Okay. For us this started yesterday. Before that, no problem (at least not this consistent). Right now we cannot build new versions of the app. And it is not restricted to one app, it happens on all the apps we have. My question is why not someone from PB is replying and acting on this. We're a paying customer so we expect the service to work and we expect our support questions to be answered.

Since 3 months, there is no PGB support crew present here.
