HI,

Since io8 i cant install apps anymore that are build by phonegap.
When i click on ios on build.phonegap.com i get an confirm with open this page in the App Store when i press open then i get another confirm with the text build.phonegap.com wants to install [appName] when i press install it do nothing in the left upper corner of my ipad you only see the busy turning icon next to my wifi symbol.

This busy symbol stays for minutes without doing anything when i press the home button it's gone and i dont see the app appear.

Even when i rebuild again keep getting the same issue.

I have the same issue with the hello world app that i create with phonegap create in the command line

Is this an already know issue and how can i fix this issue or has phonegap has to fix this ?

There is no ios8 support yet and android l support.

Cordova has to support it first then phonegap will update then phonegap build eventually :(

So it can take a while before it will get supported

I guess there are sleeping at cordova because ios8 has already in beta for a while and just came out.

Since upgrading from iOS7 to iOS 8 (on iphone 4s) im not able to install the app from scanning the QR code in PhoneGap Build interface..

I would like to give attention to this topic.

In my opinion this is quite a big problem and people seem not to care about it. Does anyone have any idea, how this is possible, and how it could be fixed as soon as possible?

Is this a PhoneGap Build problem? Or a PhoneGap Framework problem? I am not able to install and debug my apps on my phone to test it, before uploading it to Google and Apple stores.

In my opinion this bug really need attention and above all, a solution!

Thanks.

It is not an app problem, or an installer problem. The same .ipa file will successfully install on my iPhone 5 with iOS 8 via both TestFlight and www.diawi.com. The problem seems to be in the link given to Safari:

QR code -> build.phonegap.com/apps//install/

This goes to safari and asks if I want to install the App.

The next link starts build.phonegap.com/apps//download/..

(annoyingly, Safari doesn't show the link except in the tab switching screen).

This page just sits and spins. It never completes.

Hi Derek,

I don't understand ...

I can install the same App when I just add a "1" to the AppID in config.xml.
So the original AppID cannot be installed. When I change the AppID, it can be installed.

I don't see the link between this issue and your explanation.

I was just clarifying that there is nothing actually wrong with the built application once it is installed - which is essentially the same thing you have found out: it is the installation process which is broken, not the App.

Take a look at this. I think they are working on it.

We will usually support new platforms when we have our next major release.
Support starts with Cordova then PhoneGap and last PhoneGap Build.
I believe work is on the way for iOS 8 and assume the same for Android L."

Does this mean apps build with phonegap build do not work in iOS8?

@Mark Latham, No it means the apps build with Phonegap Build will still work in iOS 8 and the just released iOS 8.0.2. I published my apps already to the AppStore a few months ago and the apps are still working under iOS 8.

But it won't be possible to install the newly build apps from Phonegap Build on your phone. This is basically the same as what Derek Law mentioned.

Any status from the developers about this? We are facing the same problem here since update to iOS8, on iOS7 and before it was working fine.

Ugh! I'm having this problem as well. Unfortunately updating the app id didn't seem to help. Others in my office are able to successfully download the app from PGB onto similar devices with iOS8.

I've wasted a lot of time on this thinking it was something wrong with my config.xml file or that I had a plugin that needed to be updated etc.

I'm very disappointed by the lack of support here for an issue that was first raised 15 days ago and has been reported by numerous people.

Maybe this will get some Attention from the Phonegap developers. Im already pretty annoyed by this right now. They are forcing me to take a look at alternatives. I am seriously considering to switch completely to Titanium platform and stop using Phonegap.

I cannot understand how Phonegap Build is a service of Adobe and they just screw up at this point! Phonegap is a valuable product but it is useless when they screw up on things like this. I hope they will understand and learn from this huge mistake and if there will be a a new iOS or Android version, they already start supporting in in the beta versions, instead of AFTER the releases from Google and Apple.

To all users who follow this topic.

Please follow, read and comment on this topic from Danny.

They do install, but not directly from the build.PhoneGap.com application page.

You can download the .apk file and install them in other ways e.g. TestFlight, www.diawi.com.

This is a bug in iOS 8, and not PhoneGap, or PhoneGap Build. It is Safari that interprets the URL and launches the iOS installer that is broke.

SOLVED!

Hi everyone,

I am new on phonegap build and I am crazy for 2 days because I have iphone 6 with IOS 8 and I can not install an app "hello world"

I have not a mac, so I have done all down windows.

The problem was that to get de UDID of my iphone, I was using an app that I downloaded from app store and I did not use a mac for that. THIS WAS THE PROBLEM!!! :D

When I have tried to install my app with TestFlight, this show me that the UDID is not the correct, testflight show me the correct UDID. I have generated the provision file again with the correct UDID and... YEEES!!! I HAVE INSTALLED MY APP"!

I hope help a lot of people!

Update.

New iPhone 6 arrived, and it now has iOS 8.1 - tried to install app from phonegap build - DOES NOT INTSALL

Tried with my iPhone 5 with 7.1.2 - tried the same install and it works fine.

So even with the 8.1 update Phonegap build does not work when installing apps from the 'Install' link.
