Following Apple's policy change allowing Air apps, is a Mac really still necessary for signing and provisioning? It seems like the instructions at http://www.adobe.com/devnet/air/artic... offer a path to do these tasks without a Mac, is there anything in this approach incompatible with PhoneGap Build?
Thanks,
Ben

Hey Ben,
This is a great find and I think you right. We shouldn't need a Mac using this approach. I will have to test it out in the next few days here. Let me know if you get a chance to try it and tell me how it goes.

A mac is needed to generate the secure certificate files that then allow you to create a provisioning file for phone gap..

First you have to create a signing certificate which you then add that in the apple members area... The the apple system creates the certificate which you the have to add to your Mac....
Once added to your Mac you the export that to you desktop...
From there you the create a provitioning file in the apple members area and then with the two files you add those to phone gap to be used to generate the file needed to submit your app

This is a great find. I'm just starting with PhoneGap. Has anyone confirmed this will work on Windows?

Jep it works on Windows 7. Although I followed a guide on lynda.com, but the principles are the same. Found the video here: http://www.lynda.com/Flash-Builder-4-... .

Check out Mobundler.com. Using this service, you can create all the files you need (.p12) using just your browser. You can use developer.apple.com to get .mobileprovision which are the two files needed for PG iOS build.
