Unable to Download App - "my phonegap app" could not be installed at this time.
I am attempting to download my app to my iOS device from build.phonegap.com, but after attempting to install, I am receiving the error above on my device. I do not seem to be getting any errors with the build, but only with the installation of the build.
I have also tried to download a previous version (that successfully worked in the past) and am receiving the same error message.

I'm having the same issue. did something change within the phonegap build service recently? I've made no changes to any version of any plugin I'm using or my app it's self.

I am no longer having this issue so it must be fixed, however if you're producing an iOS build, double check to make sure your UDID for the device is registered within the provisioning profile associated with the key you are building with.

We had the same issue. It was because our AdHoc certificate expired. Just check the dates on your provisional profile.

Hi there,
I'm having a similar issue - it used to work before when I used QR Code to install the app on the iPad. And today when I did the same thing I got that message of "could not be installed at this time".
I've checked the provisional profile file's date, it says it won't expire until Oct. 2015. Also I checked that this iPad's UDID is in that file as well. I'm using PhoneGap Build. the app is with phone gap v.3.6.3.
Any help would be appreciated, thanks in advance...!

Have you updated your keys in PhoneGap Build? If you haven't uploaded your new key which expires 10/2015, PhoneGap Build will be trying to build with an invalid key that won't work with your device.
Also, make sure you're using your development key and not your distribution key. That could also cause it to not install.

Hi Derrick, yes I have uploaded that key and set that as default and it's unlocked. I have other keys under my settings iOS signing key list, but I believe they shouldn't have any influence on the app, am I correct?
And can you explain more about development key and distribution key? What's the difference and how can I tell if a file is one or another?
Thanks a lot.

You can download two different types of keys from Apple, specifically a distribution key and a development key. The development key should be used on a daily basis for test builds, but the distribution key will only be used when you're ready to submit the IPA to Apple.
When you're getting a new key from Apple, under "Provisioning Profile" you have the option for "All", "Development", and "Distribution". In my experience, I had to download one of both development and distribution. Trying to use the distribution key for development always resulted in the same error you're getting.
Once you have the development key, you'll download it and assign devices just as you did the other key.

Thanks a lot for your help Derrick. I double checked in Apple Developer and realized that the certificate is gone for unknown reason. I needed to re-create a developer certificate and regenerate a p12 and provision profile again and re-upload to PGB and now it works.
Thanks again!
Thanks again!

I had the exact same problem after letting Xcode create my provisioning profile. In the end I I signed into the Member Centre and stepped through creating a new profile from scratch ... then it all finally worked! Thanks for the pointers guys :)

This is my first build, and I am running into the same problem. I have created a test app through CLI and I haven't changed anything in it. I zipped it up and uploaded it. I don't get any errors in the build, but when I scan the QR code I get the same Unable to Download App message.
I created my Cert and Provisioning file through the Member Center. I used my mac to create my p12 file.
I have double checked that I am using the Development Cert not the Distribution Cert. I have made sure that my UUID and my Development Cert is tied to my provision file. There are multiple Certs and multiple Devices tied to my provision file. Could that have something to do with why I can't get the hello-world app to install?
I have also double checked that neither my provision file nor Cert expire. Neither of them expire until 2016.
I'm really lost now, I'm not sure what else to try. Any help would be appreciated.

I finally figured out what was wrong with the phonegap build ios install. The app I had on my phone to get my UUID no longer works. Apparently in IOS7 apple no longer allows apps to get the UUID so if your UUID starts with fff, it is fake. As soon as I hooked my iPhone up with iTunes and got my correct UUID, changed the Device tied to the developers account, then made a new provisioning file. It now all works, finally.

This is still an issue, even when getting a UDID from iTunes. OLDER apple devices are not compatible. iPad Air 2 is fine. Two year old iPad mini, both running 9.2 won't download development ipa app. Either OTA or via iTunes.
