I’m frustrated

save as PDF from the android version

I have opened a pdf on my note 10.1 and made annotaions, I need to be able to save back to PDF and not a .atdoc. I must be able to save it to pdf, since the file will be sent to multiple people and none of them have not anytime to open the file. I cannot save as jpeg as i am dealing blueprints and must be save to scale.

I do not have a windows 8 machine so the print to pdf cannot be done, also i cannot find a way to print at all on the android version.

if this cannot be done then the app is useless to me, and would be a shame as it has what i need.

j'utilise "quick pdf scanner" gratuitement pour exporter en pdf.

    Dear our customers,

The PDF export function will be added to the next major release (Note Anytime 3.0) in a few months.
Our dev team is struggling with this function on the Android OS.

    Thank you,
    Toshi

    • Hi Again,
I am sorry for showing another subject, but it actually lies under the same topic: One Edition of Metamoji is allowing a PDF write or export with no trivial hanging meanwhile the same edition on Android (the land of Stylus pen) the version is not allowing a PDF export and is having trivial hanging usage.
Not to mention that on iPad, the same edition is allowing Font selections, Palm touch screen placement, ......
Again the target is to have a PDF export on Android, all my devices are working in high availability mode, but I will give it a try to shut down my devices as well as to shut down my Metamoji Blaming mode :)

Overall I really like the app a lot, but not being able to export PDF's in the android app is a huge missing feature. If that gets added then this app is a perfect 5.

I have just discovered this app and it does everything that I want it to do except for the export to PDF like has been mentioned above. I know you said it would be ready in autumn. I was just wondering how close it was to being available for release.

  • A solution to this is available using both iPhone or iPad and a Galaxy Note Tablet:
Of course users like to take note in Samsung Galaxy ( Note Anywhere) and transform it to a .pdf file instead of keeping it in the Metamoji format.

    Steps:
    1. Create an account in Google. Install google drive app on your MAC devices.
    2. Install Note Anywhere on your apple device ( iPhone or iPad)
    3. Create or open A NOTE anywhere file in Samsung Galaxy Note.
    4. Press on the arrow so that you send file to application.
    5. Select Metamoji file format
    6. Select Email and send the Metamoji file to your google email that can be seen in your apple devices.
    7. Open your email in either iPhone or iPad devices where Note Anywhere is already installed as in step2
    8. When you click on your email sent in step 6 - it will show you the Metamoji file - click on it and choose the Note Anywhere from the list of application available there.
    9. Within the application in iPhone you can directly select the up arrow in order to save as pdf, select your google drive that is a free space when you have an account in gmail.

    Done .

  • This solution requires entirely too many unnecessary steps. Plus it requires an Android and an iOS device, which many people do not have.

If you do happen to have both an Android and iOS device, all you need to do is use the MetaMoJi Cloud service that is build into the app and it will automatically sync all your notes with all your devices. Then it's easy to convert to PDF from your iOS device. But I don't think this is the answer people are looking for.

I personally need the PDF export capabilities to be able to copy handwritten notes that I have converted to text, so I can paste the converted text into other documents.

I am not sure why it has taken so long, but it is a big inconvenience to the users. I actually ended up buying an iPad Air to user strictly for this application, which is very sad to me that a user of an app would have to go to such lengths to have a simple functionality. But it also goes to show how important and useful this app is which means even if it does something wrong, it obviously does a whole lot more right!

    • Hi Brian,

Let me share with you the iCloud sync of MetaMoJi in the network of the American University of Sharjah.

It took me 5 minutes to refresh the cloud with different platforms, iOS - Android , meanwhile, it took 3 seconds to send an email to Google and receive it back on an iOS device.

Taking into consideration that this is Fall 2014 - beginning semester and Network is in excellent condition in the University : MetaMoJi Cloud service is not that efficient in sharing files with different platforms.

If you have an iPad, with all my respect to MetaMoji Note (which I really can't use unless they really add the PDF export --- if ever), you have access to Notability, which is the best note-taking app I have ever used. Auto sync to dropbox with folders, clean PDF export, fast and precise.
    • Here are some things I find unique to MetaMoji Note, that I find invaluable, that I don't think Notability does...

      1. Syncs notes reliably, without causing errors in the file, across iOS and Android, and Windows 8 while giving you a pretty consistent experience with the UI.

      2. Allows me to take hand written notes and convert them to text at a later date. I take very fast scribble notes at a meeting and convert to text to copy and paste in other documents later.

      3. The quality and accuracy of the handwriting recognition is top of it's class in my opinion, but that is just an opinion, so to each his own.

There are many choices out there for note taking apps, and I have used a lot of them. MetaMoJi Note has a lot of great features that make it necessary and invaluable in my work. There is always room for improvement though ;-)

  • I’m frustrated
is it that difficult to make an export to PDF a solution that is ready to work with ?

After all: How are you saving your documents in Note Anywhere or in MetamoJi ?

Do you save in order to keep on the same machine, or at least in order to print or to submit ???????????????

How does the developer team in NoteAnywhere deliver a report of a new version ? Do they write it in MetamoJi Format and submit it to the President who is to read it alone with no supporting team for his Agenda (no one is having a MetamoJi Agenda)

Please forgive my rude mode, but your team of MetamoJi needs to be exchanged or your manager needs to let other ppl delegate responsibilities.

    Thank you,

  • Dear our customers,

Thank you for posting many messages.
QA testing for MetaMoJi Note for Android Version 3.0 will start pretty soon.

With the development version, I confirmed that the PDF export function was included in the app.
According to our dev team, the function is available on Android OS 4.4 or later.
Please look at the following screenshot (Nexus 7, Android 4.4.4):

Voice function, Shapes tool (for drawing lines, circles, rectangles, etc.) and Shared Drive as in the iOS app are also included.

This version will be released in the middle of December if the QA test goes well.

    Thank you,
    Toshi
    • > According to our dev team, the function is available on Android OS 4.4 or later.

Wait wait wait... you are saying that for the new features to work we have to have Android 4.4? That's kind of a deal breaker, because a while back I rooted my Galaxy Note 10.1/2014 before finding out that doing so prevents me from upgrading from 4.3 to any newer version of Android, ever. So I am stuck on 4.3 for all eternity! So are you saying that all this waiting has been for nothing?
    • I mean the PDF export function.
You can use the other new features.
The PDF function has been added to the Android OS 4.4 or later.
This is what I heard from the dev team.
      Thank you for your understanding.

  • I’m undecided
    I guess that I am having a Android 4.4 or later : It is even 4.42 ,
and as shown, my application Metamoji (NoteAnywhere) does not show in the SENT to Application any PDF format mode

I guess that Microsoft OneNote is doing all of this, over iPAD and over Samsung Note Book (the leader in S pen stylus pen tool.

Please don't be faked by the Developer Team as it should really be exchanged.

Attached are the two screenshots of my Android machine.

No hard feeling: but I am not believing in the promises of such developers.

  • They've been promising PDF support for Android for too long... Too many empty promises. Shows they can't be believed or trusted. Adding PDF support can't be a difficult task since so many other Android apps have PDF support. Therefore, must be Meta Moji owners and staff don't really care.

    Hi Francesco,
This is true. Unfortunately, they made us wait a lot for a version that will export to PDF in MetaMoji meanwhile they missed an important factor: The Quality of the image.

I will not waist time talking about bugs in the new version that I have found in MetaMoji running on Android. There are plenty regarding the T function and PDF and pages disappearing after the upgrade to a version containing PDF Export.

The best advice is to ppl who did not yet upgrade on Android is NOT to update. Just have a Picture Album Export, and get an Adobe Acrobat Pro on your Mac or PC and re- group images into one PDF file.

  • Hi Toshi,

I am currently using Android OS 4.2 and would prefer to not have to update to 4.4 because the new updates will break some of my current needed tablet functions. There are excellent alternative apps like INKredible that fully integrate export to PDF in older Android OS's (exporting to actual pdf, not simply to high resolution image file). I prefer the metamoji interface most, but the PDF export function is a must. This deficiency on older Android OS versions has been a major drawback in making metamoji my primary note-taking app.

Is there any way the development team can help?

    Thanks

      Hello,
Thank you for getting in touch with us.
Basically we add functions based on what the OS provides.
The dev team were trying to add the PDF export function before Android OS 4.4 using a third-party library. But it never satisfied with our requirements.
      Thank you for your understanding,
      Toshi

Works great with my HP Chromebook X2 and Samsung Note 9 for synchronizing my notes. I would love the capability to export multiple notes into PDFs. Right now, I have to type the name of the PDF (the app does not use the same name as the note) and export each note individually. I need to export my notes into PDF for my work. I can do do a mass export with the Squid app. It doesn't matter to me how big the files get. I am going to stop using this app until this gets fixed. I would even pay for the Gold Service for an entire year if exporting to PDF was much easier. The sync and editing functions work great though.
