Sync from Windows8.1 to Android

Greetings! I just installed the android and windows 8.1 versions of your excellent note app. Im having the sync issue. The android notes sync to windows, but the folder structure is not syncing back to the android device. Please advise on what i can do to resolve the issue. This app is just so excellent, i want very much for it to work for me!

  • Hi Sean,

Thank you for getting in touch with us.
I created a new post for you.

Please let me know more information.

    - Notes on Win8 can be synchronized back to your Android tablet?
    - When you tap the Sync button on your Win tablet, what message did you get?
For example, the message says synchronizing tags ---30% and then it clears and synch stops.
    - Have you tried to reboot your Win tablet and tried to sync?
    - Are you using the latest version?
Android app: 1.4.1.0 Windows app: 1.1.4.0

Please let me know your Android and Windows devices (model and OS version).

    Regards,
    Toshi

  • Thanks for the quick reply! I'm using the latest versions from both stores. My android device is the galaxy note 3 and my windows tablet is the dell venue pro running windows 8.1. rebooting either device has not helped. I will try deleting and reinstalling the apps tonight. The sync has now completely stopped. Initially the windows tab synced the android created test note over. Then I created my folder structure for work and Dev. I created two notes and synced both devices. The notes did not transfer to the windows device. Subsequent attempts yield the same result with the windows tab asking if I want to connect to the server and enable sync each time. The android device seems to autosync after the initial sync any time I modify the original note. I suspect the problem is with the windows client. Let me know if there is anything else I can try or additional information you need.

    Thanks again,
    Sean

  • I also have the same problem,
I bought NoteAnyTime on Android, and using it on Win8.1
After syncing from Win 8.1 and Android, My folder structures were
    all mixed up.
The tags looks to be ok, but all the notes are flattended out in the parent directory.
Like Company->Proj->Proj1->Meetings notes (e.g. Note1) are flattened out in folder
Company->Proj. (e.g. Note1 is in this folder with tag. Proj1->Meetings)
But looking at the tag you could figure out which folder they came from.
So now I have tons of these notes without the directory structure.
Looks like the synching among multiple device, killed the folder display structure.

This is kind of data corruption as far as my folder structure goes.
Is there a way to fix this problem?

    Any help will be appreciated.
    Thanks

    • I am not sure what you mean, by force.
In the settings, I am linked to MetaMoJicloud, and I have auto sync off on
my android device. So I hit the cloud button to start the sync, when there is a
red plus sign on it. Before starting the sync. it does not ask me anything about
      a forced sync. operation.
The same notes are duplicated and distributed in different folders as described above. I can figure it out from the light pink colored tags So please give me a tool or way to consolidate these.
I rely on your system heavily, for note taking, If it messes up my folder structure, like this, I would have to painfully switch to something else.
Hope to use your stuff more.
      Any help is appreciated.
      Thanks

When you start synchronizing on more than two devices, you are asked for "force sync". But you set off the Auto Sync option.
If you set off the option, I wonder if you tried sync at a reasonable time on both devices.

      My guess is as follows:
1, You edited your notes under Company->Proj on a device (device A).
      2. And move the edited notes under Company->Proj->Proj1->Meetings notes on the same device.
      3. On the other hand, you edited the same notes under Company->Proj on another device (device B).
      4. You synchronized on the device A.
      5. You synchronized on the device B.

On the device A, the same notes remain under Company->Proj because you edited the notes on the device B.
If you touch the same note without synchronizing on different devises, a duplicated note (the note name is the same but the content is changed) is downloaded after the sync.

In the case above, sync is required after the step #2.
