Can NS7ii "Brake" adjustment be fine tuned?

Is there a way to address the inaccurate stop adjustment on the NS7ii platters? It seems to go from "instant stop", to a wide "wind down". It doesn't seem to have any adjustment in between that.

  • Hello,

Thanks for posting William. This was declared a Serato bug in previous Serato DJ software versions. I recommend if you haven't already updated to the latest version Serato DJ 1.6.3, you do so or you can even try out the upcoming Serato DJ 1.7 BETA version from the link here http://serato.com/forum/discussion/13.... Though, I recommend you don't gig with the BETA version until the official version as been released.

  • Thanks Chris,

I have updated all new versions as they come out (I'm running the Beta now). It hasn't had any noticeable improvement over the issue that I'm talking about. If you turn the "stop adjust" all the way down (lowest setting), you get an instant stop. As you slowly increase the knob, there's no noticeable change until you get to the marker where the "-" symbol is (8 O'clock maybe), it jumps to a longer delay of what should be closer to the 12 O'clock setting. I wish I could send a video clip to explain what I mean...
I actually called tech support to see if there was a way to recalibrate the unit (like the NS7/V7) and I was told no, and they wanted me to send it in. I'd really rather not do that.

  • Hello William,

I don't think a re-calibrating will help you in this scenario. This should be a hardware issue reason why, all of the MIDI data that is being transmitted from that knob goes through the software. It would be a hardware issue if the knob was stuck or physically detached from the controller. You should've seen a difference in the BETA version. Also, ensure that your settings are adjusted correctly inside your Serato DJ software too.
