Feedback Issue?

I have the Numark TTUSB. Am setting it up for the first time.

I have set it to RCA line and am running the sound into the CD input jacks at the back of my 1991 Vector Research Amp.

There is no feedback hum when the turntable is in power off mode.
There is feedback when the turntable is in power on mode.
There is feedback hum when the turntable is playing a record.

I get the same results when I put the setting to RCA PHONO and run the sound into the PHONO jacks on my amp

I am using JPW speakers

I have tried running both amp and turntable from same surge protected power board and from seperate wall power outlets.

Any ideas?

  • Hi Al,

    Thanks for posting.

It sounds like you may be experiencing a poor ground. Does the feedback occur if you use the turntable in another room or building?

Do you have your turntable close to your speakers or on the same surface as your speakers? If so, the vibrations from the speakers can be transmitted through the turntable. Check out this article for additional assistance with this.

Let me know if you have any further questions.
