Ns7ii crossfader issues (ongoing issue, not solved)

I have posted this exact same post I'm about to post, it was not solved, my board seemed to have fader issues and the crossfader stopped taking the brunt of the issues. ..... basically my up faders will "ghost" ALWAYS! if I keep them 3/4 of the way up they stay (but that sucks because the video going out isn't fully bright as it should be when levels are full) then my crossfader started to work..... but now it went back to ghosting and it's driving me crazy! Soooo. ..... my up faders are screwy and my crossfader (were I do all my work) has a mind of its own..... I was told I can put an "Innofader" in there as a replacement. Does Innofader provide up faders as well? And honestly why did the ns7i faders work flawless and now there's issues wth the ns7ii faders? What if there replaced with ns7i faders and crossfader? What's the real issue going on here? I see there is lots of people with the same issue.... what's the real fix? And I need it now..... paid a lot for this board to be having fader issues..... also is it possible the board needs calibration??? I noticed my strip search doesn't work either. So maybe a link to a youtube video of ns7ii calibration would be nice.... at least can try there...... there are some newer versions of software and drivers I haven't installed yet, but I'm not convinced it's software... I think the faders themsleves are the issues......

So...... if someone can lead me to an explination and a fix to this problem I'd very much appreciate it. Also if the Innofader goes in, it will in fact do exactly what it needs to do as what the original faders where supposed to do correct? Like transitions and show up ok the screen as a midi controlled fader...... I don't mind spending a few buck on a fader that will work, but why isnot my dam faders working anyways?

So if someone can offer me some sites to buy the "proper crossfader, proper up faders) for this rig and how to install, and how to calibrate an ns7ii I'd appreciate that...... and or If theres a fix for this, please tell me.

Below is the 1st answer I received from my last post. It didn't do the trick. Thanks for posting. I'd like to help. First, you mention "firmware". Which firmware are you referring to? There has never been a firmware update for this product so right after off the bat, when you talk about "firmware", you worry me because you're not distinguishing correct terms. The only additional update you can do to with the NS7II is a "driver" update which can be found on the NS7II product page - http://www.numark.com/product/ns7ii. Is that what you're referring to? If not, please post your "firmware" update link here in this thread. I'd like to check this out.

Secondly, I video DJ too with the NS7II and my Macbook Pro is identical to your specs. That's a good computer. Hopefully your crossfader is not "ghosting" on the unit but lets verify if it is or it isn't. The easiest way is to not use Video for this test. Basically DJ as normal with audio (no video). Scratch, crossfade back and forth, do you experience the same symptoms? Make sure your XFader Contour is all the way to the right. Make sure for Deck Control, 3 and 1 are on A and 2 and 4 are on B.

Please verify my first question to you from the first paragraph and my second question from the second paragraph. From that point, we'll proceed further.

  • Hello,

Sorry to hear bout your troubles there. I'm sure we can certainly get you fixed. I think for your case, it'll be a lot easier to talk to a tech support agent over the phone and help you out while you're in front of your gear. So please log onto www.numark.com/support to contact Numark Technical Support. Their office contact numbers are listed on that page.

As for your second question, the Innofader is a crossfader, not a channel fader slider. You wouldn't install an Innofader crossfader for your channel faders. You can purchase replacement channel sliders from our Parts Department. Part inquiries are not handled here on the forum. If you live in the US, you can reach them at 401-658-3131 ext. 1407. If you wish to reach the Parts Department by email, contact them at parts@inmusicbrands.com. You can find out where to purchase a Innofader crossfader by logging onto www.innofader.com/buynow.php.

  • I need both crossfader and up faders. I see other people have this issue..... I have had the crossfader replaced twice now under warranty..... it is obvious that there's a serious problem here. Does the ns7i have the same crossfader? Because I had zero issues with my Ns7I faders. I have not had the up faders replaced. The Innofader will connect properly to the ns7ii? So it will still be midi to the computer so my video transitions are still the same as if it was the original correct?? What a pain in my butt this has become. I've goNE through 2 boards and both boards have had the crossfader changed twice, so technically this is crossfader #4...... there's something wrong with that picture..... shouldn't Numark recall this or something considering the amount of posts with the same problem?? I use this unit to make money with the skills I've aquired over the years of turntablism which Is what club owners hire me to do, but this board is making it almost impossible! I can't scratch because the crossfader jumps around like it has its own mind, even trying to just do a common transition with the up faders is near impossible because they jump too!

In your opinion what should I do?
