NS7II jog wheel too slow?

Hey guys. Has anyone else had trouble with the jog wheels being out of sync with the ns7 II? Ive tried to resync it, but the left jog wheel is super slow compared to the right. It drops in almost a full second after releasing the wheel. Thank you for your help!

  • Hello Mark,

Thanks for the post. If you're experiencing this symptom then that means either your Start Time knob is positioned too highly and isn't set to 0 or you're having USB MIDI drop outs. If its because of the USB MIDI drop outs then make sure your computer is optimized and exceeding Serato DJ system requirements. For information on this, see below.

Mac Optimization Guide for Serato DJ users using Mac OS X

If you're on a PC, try out the optimizing steps below:

If you're using a laptop, I always recommend to connect your NS7II to the USB port closest to your power supply. That port will always draw the most power to your DJ controller. Try a different USB cable. Sometimes a simple thing like a USB cable can play the middle man with these symptoms.

It's also very important that prior to DJing, any new songs you added to your song database gets fully analyzed in Serato DJ to ensure smooth and functional playback. If you have a corrupt file in your Serato DJ database, this could cause these symptoms. I recommend deleting any file with a lightning bolt next to it from your Serato database. This means deleting not only from your crate but from your ALL location in Serato DJ. Fore more information on corrupt files in Serato DJ, check out the links below:

    * Re-encoding corrupt files using iTunes

Lastly, before your gig, follow the directions below:

    1. Connect and power on the NS7II
    2. Open Serato DJ
    3. On each deck, fully turn, clock and counter clock wise, the Start and Stop Time knobs prior to DJing. This will ensure that the NS7II is properly communicating with Serato DJ.
    4. As a good practice , we also recommend moving the Pitch Sliders, Crossfader and Channel Sliders up and down prior to DJing. Again, this will ensure that the NS7II is properly communicating with Serato DJ.

  • I know you can make adjustments by unscrewing the Allen screw on the middle of the adapter which holds the Slipmat to the platter. Loosen the Allen screw and press down on the platter and hold while tightening up the Allen screw. The more you press down on the adapter the less back spin you will get giving you a tighter drop when you release the vinyl, after you get it where you want it tighten the Allen screw back up and then check and see how much back spin you get when spinning back the vinyl with the platter off or track paused. I hope this helps you out and it's not a serious technical problem. Good Luck

  • Hello,

I now encounter the same problem as Mark . The jog wheel on the left player starts slowly during a music playback , the problem occurred 3 times.
Initially , the first use of the NS7 II for the evening , I turned the "start time" buttons on the 2 players, despite that the problem returned .I had already seen the problem but the right player.

    NS7II driver 3.20 and firmware 1.05.

I use a Macbook mid 2012, processor i7 2.3GHz, 16GB ram qo to 1600mhz, ssd samsung 830 pro series 256GB, a Oyaide usb class S series D +, OS X 10.9.5 Mavericks, Serato DJ 1.8.1 "The Buffersize in setup is 5ms". The Macbook has been formatted in January 2016 with a clean installation of the system. I do not know how to solve the problem .

Sorry for my english, i'm French.

    En français :

    Bonjour,

    NS7II driver 3.20 and firmware 1.05.

    • "Lastly, try disabling your Pitch N Time plugin to see that helps too." When the bug occurred Pitch n Time was not activated !

The macbook cpu is used less than 10 %
    • Please follow my directions to help yourself out. No matter if you use them or not, those knobs should be performed as I discussed.
