I’m bummed out because I just bought this today.

NS7II: When stopping the left platter, the track jumps and does not stop accurately. Other platter is fine

When stopping the left platter, the track in Itch jumps or stutters and does not stop at the chosen part of the file. I move it back to the correct place but it keeps jumping back or up a bit. Like a half a beat or so. It does it every time when the platter comes to a complete stop (like hitting the stop button and letting it roll down to stop) or when moving the vinyl by hand. I removed the platter to see if it was a platter issue but it does it even without the platter. I put the platter back on. Still the same problem. I'm not sure if the motor is defective or if it's a software issue. The right side platter is fine and stops accurately. In addition, it seems the Torque button is making no difference when set to Low or High. Maybe there's a connection to the two?

  • Upon further investigation, I noticed that if using layer 3 in Itch, the left platter is functioning accurately.

  • Hello dkdmc,

I'd like to help. First, you must use Serato DJ not Serato iTCH with your NS7II. Use the latest version http://serato.com/dj/downloads of Serato DJ.

Next, some Serato DJ users on both Mac and Windows computers may experience slow Start Time playback with their NS7II after loading a song on their deck. If you're experiencing these symptoms then simply follow the recommended steps below:

    1. Connect and power on the NS7II
    2. Open Serato DJ
    3. On each deck, fully turn, clock and counter clock wise, the Start and Stop Time knobs prior to DJing. This will ensure that the NS7II is properly communicating with Serato DJ.
    4. As a good practice , we also recommend moving the Pitch Sliders, Crossfader and Channel Sliders up and down prior to DJing. Again, this will ensure that the NS7II is properly communicating with Serato DJ.

Also, it's important that prior to DJing with your newly added songs, you fully analyze the song in Serato DJ to ensure smooth and functional playback. If you have a corrupt file in your Serato DJ database, this could cause these symptoms. I recommend deleting any file with a lightning bolt next to it from your Serato database. This means deleting not only from your crate but from your ALL location in Serato DJ. Fore more information on corrupt files in Serato DJ, click here - http://serato.com/scratchlive/support....

Also, if your holding the SHIFT button on the NS7II and move the platter forward, you can replicate this too. Ensure that you're properly utilizing this feature correctly in Serato DJ. For more information on this feature, review your NS7II User Guide - http://www.numark.com/images/product_....
