  • Hello,

Sorry you're having issues with your NS7II.

Can you please provide me with your full system specs, as well as the version of Serato DJ you're using?

  • It is a macbook osx 10.7.1 lion 6 gb 667mhz. I have the latest serato dj 1.91 as well as an older version 1.5.1. It connected to both version in january when i got my ns7 ii. This past weekend it stopped connecting to both versions

  • Can you confirm you've installed the latest driver? This can be downloaded from the Product Page. If you have installed the driver, try uninstalling and reinstalling it, as this can clear up issues, as well.

You may want to also try creating a new configuration within your MIDI Studio. A new configuration for the MIDI Setup may help if:
    • You have just updated your OS and your MIDI device is no longer recognized
    • Software cannot find your MIDI device
    • MIDI device is recognized by the software but has limited or no response
    • MIDI device was connected or disconnected repeatedly
    • MIDI device configuration has changed, i.e. USB keyboard is no longer a part of the setup and a new keyboard has been connected

Before getting started, disconnect all USB or Firewire MIDI devices or keyboards. This will eliminate any potential conflicts upon creating a new configuration.

    1. Open the Audio/MIDI Setup by going to Applications > Utilities > Audio/MIDI Setup.

    2. If the MIDI Studio window does not appear automatically, go to the menu bar at the top of the screen and select Window > Show MIDI Window.

    3. The MIDI Studio window will pop and display all of your current MIDI devices.

You may see icons for all of your MIDI devices that have been "greyed out." This just means that the devices are not currently connected. If a device is not connected to the computer but still appears connected in your MIDI Studio, that may be a part of the problem and a sign that the MIDI Studio needs to be reset.

Please Note: The IAC Driver and Network will always appear in the MIDI Studio.

    4. To create a new configuration, click on the Configuration drop-down menu and select New Configuration...

    5. Name the new configuration in the window that appears.

      MIDIstudio config3

    6. Click OK and the MIDI Studio will rescan your devices. If nothing is connected, only the IAC Driver and Network should appear again.

    7. Starting with the device in question, re-connect each device one by one. Wait for the device to show up in the MIDI Studio before connecting the next one. Hint: you can also use the Rescan MIDI button at the top if a device is still not showing up while connected.

    8. And that's it! Test your keyboard or MIDI device in your DAW again and refer back to our USB Troubleshooting Guide for more troubleshooting tips.
Let me know how this goes.

  • The driver i need is 10.7.5. It's not available to download. It only has 10.8-10.12. I tried to upgrade to 10.8 but my laptop is not compatible for 10.8. Is there anything i can do besides buy a new laptop?

  • Sorry Jon, it appears that the support for 10.6 and 10.7 was a typo on our website. You will need to be using 10.8 or higher.

  • I'm having issues myself and so frustrating. I just bought the NS7ii Saturday and my serato dj will not recognize device. I get the message that cannot read the MIDI. I have installed, uninstalled reinstalled all weekend and nothing, nada, zip zero. I called technical support and provide my MacBook information and the tech emailed links....installed that and nada...I did a new MIDI new configure as suggested and it will read the device but when I open serato.....searching and then cannot not located MIDI device. It tells me to search hardware....I search...takes me to site and has me download a version....did that and nada again. HELP!!!!!
