On the NS7 II 2 pads stays red in 'sampler'mode even with no samples loaded and after fresh install of windows and serato DJ

After playing around with VirtualDJ 8 and loaded 8 samples into the sampler pads I shut down virtualDJ and started Serato DJ. When I select the sampler there are Always 2 pads lighted RED (the 2 pads that are not available in serato). (see attached picture).
I reinstalled windows and serato but the complaint is still there. Also connecting the NS7II to another computer which has never been used does not solve this. There must be something changed in the hardware of the NS7 II. Is there a way to reset the NS7 II to the situation the device was when it left the factory. Or is it possible to reinstall the firmware of the NS7 II

Best Regards,

Kees

  • Hello,

Have you tried to turn off the NS7II then turn it back on? It looks like the controller was attempted to be put in Vegas mode. Turn it off and back on should resolve that. As soon as you connect this controller to Virtual DJ 8, it should automatically connect and be setup in your software if you have the latest version of Virtual DJ 8. If not, use this guide here http://www.numark.com/kb/article/1666 to help you out. There currently isn't a firmware update that is available for the NS7II.

  • Hello Chris.

Turning the NS7 II on and off does not solve the issue.
I have this problem already for more then a month. Last month I bought a new Laptop (because my 6 year old laptop was a little slow) with fresh install of windows and serato DJ. Even when virtual DJ is not installed the problem stays. (In virtual DJ the pad lights are off when the sample on that pad is deleted. But every time I start serato the same issue occurs.

Is there a way to reset the NS7 II to factory defaults?

  • Ok for serato dj those 2 buttons pictured have no function. The manual says it is suppose to be the bottom row, and 2 closest to the right side. If you didn't know, you can use the parameter buttons and have up 24 samples loaded.

  • Hello Chris.

Thank you for your comments but after struggling for a month there was something I did not try and this solved the problem.
(normally I always try an older version of the software, but this time I forgot to try it)
I installed version 1.3 of serato DJ and the pad lights are off.
After that I tried all the version available and found that the problem occurs with Serato DJ 1.6.2 and 1.6.3.
With Serato 1.6.1 the problem does not exist.

    So problem is solved.
Thank you for your support, I will report this issue to serato.
