Thanks for the feedback. We are working on an update function for version 2.0. We are thinking about back porting this to version 1.x as 2.0 will still take some time to finish.

Kind regards,

Diederik

yeah this is needed, what would you suggest for a workaround? just removing and re-adding the volume?

When you re-import the volume you can choose to replace the volume if it already exists. This will effectively delete and import the volume again.

I would be happy if it just removed used the previous location, removed the past entries, and re-cataloged the location/disk with new entires ... but, keeping the "Info" intact. I would love to right-click, choose re-catalog, and go.

This is what we currently have implemented for 2.0. It will leave the entered location, comments (both file and catalog), etc. untouched.

can DiskLibrary not recognise when drives are mounted and then automatically update the catalog for that drive? or at least ask if that is required?

obviously i have no idea how complicated this is, but it sounds very useful?

can this be done? (with the version from the AppStore)

thanks

Steve

This is currently not possible. You can however, turn on batch mode when you index a disc. This will automatically eject a disc after indexing and wait for a new disc to be inserted and indexed.

We have this under consideration for a future version.

Thanks,

Diederik

Here is another vote for adding the ability to automatically update catalogs. I have over 10 external HDs that I use as part of my video editing suite. I only have 1 or two connected at a time, so Disk Library is a big help to me. But, the ability to automatically update catalogs will make this app one that I will definitely recommend to all my video editing network!

Hi I dont need automatic update but would like to have a refresh or reindex hardrive so when I update the content on my external hardrives that I use for archiving I can just update the HD with those folders or just rescan the content and it updates.
It takes some time to make a index especially when using big image files. This archive have made it so much easier to get hold of the right image when requested. But when I have terabytes on terabytes of photos and video it takes a while to index it all.
Can you give us a rough time table when we can get this?

Another vote here to allow updating of Catalogs. I assumed it had this feature. Back porting to version one would be awesome!!

Any progress on getting automatic updating when a drive is mounted? This would the the app from "very useful" to "stellar!" especially in the professional photo/video market where we dead on many external drives full of assets!

would defo be worth a paid update!

Thanks :)
