I’m frustrated!

Assessment scores missing

Assessment scores are not showing up in my grade book. It seems like the students re none synching with Opening Class. Can you help me with this?

    Can you provide a little more detail? Which students and which assessments? I logged into the course, and I do see grades populating for some of the students and assessments. Can you also tell me what browser and what operating system are you using?

    Hello,

    The students are having trouble with all of the assessments.

    When they clicked the "Save and Submit" a window comes up saying it was being submitted, but the window never clears or indicates that it was submitted successfully.

    Below are the names of the students who have reported this problem. They are using either Microsoft Windows 7 or 10

    Is the issue that after clicking "Save and Submit" the screen won't go away, or is it that it doesn't submit to the gradebook or that the students don't see their grades?

    I am sorry you are having issues, but I noticed the following regarding your course.

    1. When I check the gradebook from instructor view, I see grades on the students you mention.
    2. The gradebook is hidden to students. Is it possible that students just don't see their grades because they don't have access to the gradebook and therefore they don't think their assessments are being submitted?
    3. I logged in with my test student, and did an assessment, and clicked Save and Submit and didn't have issues. Please see video: https://www.screencast.com/t/1Ig2RwW6Z8

    Please let me know your thoughts so that we can get this resolved for you.

    There are a few issues:

    1.) After clicking "Save and Submit" the screen doesn't go away, AND it doesn't submit to the gradebook

    2.) I, the instructor, cannot see the grades in the gradebook.

    Below is an email from another student. I received it today.

    Hello! I have tried multiple browsers, but none of them worked. I uninstalled/reinstalled all of them and then cleared their caches, but that still didn't work. If you think of any other way to fix this issue, please let me know. Thanks!

    I was going to send over a personal email, when I started being able to replicate the issue with assessments. It does seem very sporadic. And I believe you had another post that mentions that this has been sporadically an issue since 10/2/2016. Sometimes it seems to be able to submit the grades and sometimes it doesn't work. I have noticed this issue in all browsers, but it has also worked in all browsers at other times. It also seems to be sporadic at different times of the day.

    I am checking with engineers, to see what they can figure it out.

    Engineers believe they figured out the issue and resolved it. I tried replicating yesterday and today, and the assessments have been working and submitting.

    Can you let me know if you still see or hear of any further issues? If you do, I can let the engineers know to continue working on it.

  • I was having the same problem for my past few courses. The courses have now ended and everyone has been dropped. But maybe this description would help:

    Several students reported waiting for hours while the screen indicated it was "submitting." There was never a success message. They were worried that if they closed the browser, they would lose all their test answers. On the instructor side, the gradebook showed the blank -- score as if they had not completed the test, but if I clicked "view details," I could then see their submitted test results, and select the checkbox to display the grade.

    Previously, the instructor gradebook would show the score, but hide it from students until I checked the display grade box.

    Our engineering team continues looking at the issue to see what is causing it and trying to resolve it. I have noticed it is sporadic, it works sometimes, other times it works better in another browser, but either way its not been consistently down, but it is an inconvenience.

    Sorry for the delay, but the engineering team has been working on this issue, and they believe that the assessment issue has been improved. We are still working on the security issue for Chrome, so there are still issues with that browser, but we continue to work on that issue separately.
