Failed Validation

Hi OpenClass Team,

I am trying to upload a file in Batch Operations. I don't know what the problem is. Please refer to the screenshot below:

  • Januel,

It looks like the file that you submitted isn't formatted correctly. The file does not have each field separated by a comma. The file would need to have this to be able to run correctly hence all of the errors that you received. Please remove all spaces between the fields and place commas between each and then the file should run correctly.

Below is an example of what a line in the file should look like.

  • Hi,

I was using an Excel spreadsheet for this and I only followed the template that is provided in the Knowledgebase (and even in OpenClass itself). Based on the template, there should be 7 delimiters which I believe I followed having 7 columns in my excel file. Then I saved it as .csv file.

Will I use Excel for the example you gave me? Or will I do that in .txt file only?

    Thanks.

  • Januel,

What you are saying sounds correct. The process would be to create your file, save it as a .CSV file. A way to check to make sure that it is created correctly would be to open it in a .txt file to make sure that the commas are there. If they are not something is missing in your process. What might be helpful is to watch a youtube video on how to save a .CSV file. Here is the URL of one that I found to be pretty good on this process.
