I am a Google Apps user. How do I login to OpenClass?

I signed up for a Google Apps for business account and then installed OpenClass app from the marketplace. While settting up they requested my domain name and such. Now when I tried to login to openclass with the google apps password, it tells me the email and password do not match. I am however able to log into google apps. What could be the problem?

  • Can you confirm you're following the correct flow to login to OpenClass? Because you are a Google Apps user, there are two ways you can login:

    1. Click the 'Sign in with Google Apps' button at www.pearsonopenclass.com.

    2. Login to your Google Apps account and click 'OpenClass' where it appears under the 'More' dropdown menu available in the Google toolbar.

Please also visit the OpenClass Knowledge Base to read additional information that you will help you to login successfully.

  • I’m beginning to lose confidence in whether this will work for me.
I am using method 2 which takes me to the username and password page. Once I enter this another login page appears saying openclass login. Here when I type the same information, "does not match error comes". I am not sure whether openclass admin has to do something at their end for me to start using openclass.

    I’m optimistic!
We are sorry to hear your are still having trouble, Shaju.

Can you confirm if you have been able to successfully login using the OpenClass login page www.pearsonopenclass.com?

Additionally, can you please provide the email address you are using to attempt to login to OpenClass, as well as the title and domain of the campus you used to create your instance of OpenClass? This information will be very useful as we attempt to troubleshoot.

    Hang in there!

  • Thank you for your follow up, Shaju. We think we're on to something but need to confirm your institution name. Can you please tell us how you titled your institution when you created it through the Google Apps Marketplace? Also, the email address you provided in the thread above, is this the email address you used to login to Google when you installed OpenClass through the Google Apps Marketplace?

Thank you again! We appreciate you hanging with us while we work through this issue.

  • I’m frustrated.
I don't understand what you mean by titled. We have another email address: learn2writenow@gmail.com. I might have used this since only later did i realize I needed to have a google apps account. This is a google apps for business account using the domain learntowritenow.com. We are an educational institution teaching students K-8 on writing skills as an after school enrichment program.

  • We're sorry you're frustrated, Shaju, but we do not see a record of either email address nor the domain in our system. In order to troubleshoot further, we'll need to know the name of your institution/organization/school as it was created in OpenClass.

When you installed OpenClass through the Google Apps Marketplace, you should have been prompted to name your institution/organization/school by entering it in the designated field. Can you please tell us what you entered as the name of your institution/organization/school when you created it in OpenClass?

If you believe you did not complete the process of installing OpenClass on your domain, you may want to consider completing the process again. Please be sure you are logged into Google with an email address that exists on the domain on which you intend to install OpenClass.

    Thanks for your help, Shaju!

  • The Institution name is : Learn To Write Now

    friendly link ..../learntowritenow.com

I tried removing and reinstalling openclass from google apps. This time however, when I hit save, it said "There was a problem setting up your institution. Please click Cancel and try Setup again

And the cancel was greyed out.

  • Thank you for the additional information, Shanju.

When you uninstalled and re-installed OpenClass, the fact that you were directed back to the create institution page tells us that your campus was not created through Google to begin with. (If it had existed, you would have been redirected to the OpenClass login page.)

Our recommendation is to attempt to add the institution again. Please note the steps below:

    1. Login to google with arunadavis@learntowritenow.com

    2. Go to https://www.google.com/enterprise/mar...

3.Select "Add it now", you will get the message saying Application already installed.

    4.Select "configure this application"

    5. on the next page, click "additional setup"

6.This will take you to a page where you create your institution

7.Enter your institution name and friendly url (friendly url must be all lowercase)

Please let us know what happens once you complete this process.

    Thanks!

  • Dear support,

I am the IT admin with school. We use the OpenClass from Google Apps for High Education. Before I introduce the OpenClass to students, I test it first.

All our students will access OpenClass from Gmail grid icon. I am expecting that users will click on agreement for the first time.

And, in any of their re-visit, they will land on OpenClass Social page without signing anymore.

    I have added a dummy students: test20@fivebranches.edu
to a few dummy courses that i have created.

I used a new browser with clean cache to the login with student gmail account, and tried to get in the OpenClass

    1) the re-visit didn't allow me landed on social interface directly

    2) I was forwarded to
    https://pearsonopenclass.com/
    I used both
    Sign In with Google Apps
    or Non-google user email/password
    both failed.

Please advise what should I do to deal with the above issue.

    Thanks!
