I am unable to access course or admin section today. The site was operating correctly on Friday. I have been using the latest version of Firefox v. 51.0.1 (32-bit) since January 30 without incident.
Description of problem:
The dashboard appears, but the browser hangs on a blank white screen when I attempt to access any course. When I attempt to access the admin area, I received the following warning from Firefox:
Your connection is not secure
The owner of admin.pearsonopenclass.com has configured their website improperly. To protect your information from being stolen, Firefox has not connected to this website.
Learn more...
It looks like your network security settings might be causing this. Do you want the default settings to be restored?
When I click on browser-generated Advanced button, the following additional details are provided:
admin.pearsonopenclass.com uses an invalid security certificate. The certificate is not trusted because it was signed using a signature algorithm that was disabled because that algorithm is not secure. Error code: SEC_ERROR_CERT_SIGNATURE_ALGORITHM_DISABLED
I can get around it for now by adding a security exception; but I'd rather not have to explain such a process to all our students.

Hi Jonathan,
Are you saying that this error didn't appear until today in Firefox 51? Also, are you only seeing this issue in Firefox or other browsers as well? I have the same browser version but haven't been able to personally replicate yet.
Thanks

1Yes, the issue did not appear until Monday 2/21/17, even though the Firefox update was installed January 30.
Internet Explorer behaved correctly.- view 1 more comment

Perhaps this should go in another thread ... but IE has a different issue: On the dashboard, "Future courses" is not listed. I can work around it by accessing my future courses through the admin section.

Thank you for this information Jonathan. I am not sure its related, so we will continue working on the main issue, and address this afterwards.

WHY CAN'T WE OPEN IT IN ALL BROWSERS .
DONT BE ANGRY
BUT ITS WASTE IF WE CANT OPEN IT-
Hi Thanmaya,
We are working on it, but for now you will need to use another browser. It seems that Firefox and Chrome made some changes that we have to update on our side.
Thanks

Hi,
Sorry, but yes, we need to retire it. As seen lately, there are a few more issues with it as we are just in maintenance mode and no new features are being developed. Open Class worked well for the time it was active, but we do need all clients to move to another LMS immediately, preferably by fall 2017, with the exact retirement at the end of 2017.
Thanks,

Hi,
We released the certificate upgrade yesterday, and there should no longer be an issue in Firefox or Chrome. Please let me know if you see any continued issues.
Thanks
