Paypal can't ship to Puerto Rico

Why is it that I can't ship to a supposed "confirmed address" in puerto rico using your print shipping label feature. Sure is pretty annoying. Paypal/eBay and all the community is losing business because it's well known that Paypal's shipping label service rarely recognizes those addresses as valid, even though they're "confirmed".

I get around this by going in to my local post office. Pain in the arse but i don't want unhappy customers because of paypal. I explained paypal policies to the clerk at the post office and she wrote the address of my customer on the back of my receipt and signed it. My name and her employee number was on the receipt as well so if paypal wanted proof i sent the item, i had it. Because it was domestic shipping i also had tracking information.
I didnt have any problems but i was terrified the customer would file a claim for some reason.

Your mistake is a common one. You are trying to ship internationally. Puerto Rico is part of the united States. It is not a state, but it is a territory of the united States. In other words, domestic shipping applies. When you print the label make sure your setting is set to ship to the U.S. and then for the state highlight "PR".

The eternal problem with Puerto Rico, which shouldn't be, because it's the same logistics as Hawaii. We arenot a state, but a territory of the US like Guam,Samoa and the US Virgin Islands. We have FEDEX,U P S,and the US Post Office system, zip code system. Some companies, because of accounting procedures or plain laziness or ignorance, mark us as International. I've had experience where the company is already experienced on the subject BUT the Post Offices in tne States ship 4th class
anyway because they think it's foreign.
