Will this MBA Midterm questionnaire be web based? Is it possible to send the link myself? We have stringent privacy laws here in HK so we may need to do this rather than me provide email addresses.

    After receiving the .csv (comma-separated values) file with the student/alumni email addresses from the school, Percept Research generates a unique ID for each survey participant. This unique ID number is embedded in the survey link (URL) sent to each student.

    Survey responses are linked to the unique ID's and allow us to prevent duplicate responses from the same participant and also prevent others from outside your sample from submitting a survey. The latter would be a possible source of error.

    The unique ID also allows us to identify which students/alumni have completed the survey so they will not receive reminder messages (and potentially cause respondent frustration). The unique link also allows us to provide the start-and-resume feature so respondents can come back to complete the survey at a later time at the last page completed.

    Because of this and advantage of using a third-party (Percept Research) to boost response rates (as we preserve respondent confidentiality), we do not recommend that schools send the links themselves during the fielding process.

    Part of the value proposition is for us to manage the fielding process for your school, so you can focus on mission-critical tasks and the results of the survey. However, if you institution requires you to manage the fielding process (this is extremely rare), we can provide you with a set of survey links, but you would be responsible for sending the survey invitations on the pre-planned schedule (timing is a factor in response rates). Changing our standard methodology will most likely decrease the response rates you would experience otherwise.
