How do you use the Songbird?

I bought the Philips Mp3 and downloaded the Songbird. I cannot do anything with it. How do I download music from the computer to the Mp3? How do I save the music to the computer Songbird? How do I list the name, tracts, artists, etc? Basically, I am getting nowhere and I'm ready to take the Mp3 back to the store and ditch the songbird. I must be missing some important element(s). Is there suppost to be something that says CD rip or CD copy, or CD label, or Mp3 download, etc? All help answers are old and no help.

Which version of Songbird did you download? Philips Songbird (if the word "Philips" is not displayed on the UI, then it is NOT Philips Songbird).
You should install the Philips Version (it is likely provided on a CD with your device, isn't it? But I'm not sure).

To add MP3s to Songbird, the easiest way is to drag and drop file on the library panel of Songbird (which should be empty for the moment).

I just plugged in the MP3 and this is the songbird that came up. I don't claim to be a computer expert, but this program is very difficult to figure out. It's been 2 weeks and I still can't figure how to get music off the MP3 to my computer. I have been using media player to put music on the MP3 player. That is simple to use.
