Hi drumtrucker,

Sorry for the delay in responding to your post. Work on the video capabilities of Songbird has been put on hold for the past few months while we worked on improving the audio aspects of the player. While .mp4 is officially a supported file type, playing those files in Songbird right now would likely result in inconsistent playback quality and performance. We hope to reintroduce full video support in a future release of the software.

Thanks for your patience while we work to make Songbird a great all-around media player.

Just trying this out to see if I can replace iTunes. Sounds to me like it isn't quite ready for that. I have to import music through another source and then add it to Songbird? Won't import my mp4's? Album artwork missing? Think I'll wait until Songbird works out the kinks.

I bought this product for my husband so he could see videos of his grand-daughter 400 miles away. It was sold to me as playing videos so I'm very annoyed at not being able to play any!

Jeanette, Songbird supports a number of video formats, as documented here: http://wiki.songbirdnest.com/Docs/Vid...

Are you trying to play videos in the Songbird application on the computer? We should be able to help with that. If you are trying to play them back on a device, let us know which model, and we might be able to point you in the right direction.

I'm trying to put QuickTime video clips from my Laptop to a GoGear Vibe MP4 player. Have tried using Songbird and by drag & drop direct from Laptop and neither seems to work. Your help would be appreciated.

Hello Jeanette,

QuickTime Videos are generally .mov files. These are not the same as .mp4 files. Your GoGear might not be able to play .mov files (I'm not sure about this). A possible solution is - convert your files into a format that your GoGear does play by using a video converter available for free online. You can search Google for a range of options for free software that can do this for you. Here's one such example - http://www.any-video-converter.com/pr...

Also, Songbird will help you after the conversion to manually (or automatically) sync your device and add the videos. :)

I hope this helps to get those videos to your husband! I know it's not the best solution but it's the easiest one I'm aware of.

I downloaded the software and tried to convert the clips to all different types of files and nothing works! The Vibe just will not play videos despite being advertised as doing so and I feel a bit cheated at that! I have looked at lots of other peoples comments on this and think it's something that needs to be sorted soon.
