i just purchased a macbook pro with Mac OS X 10.7.2. lion and my helix board 18MKII FW does't work properly. Although it's recognized as HB18 FW MK II (0789) none of the the inputs are not enabled and don't work! i only have uncontrolled output!
Do you have a solution for this?? THIS IS VERY CRITICAL.... I Just spend 1500€ and i can't work!!!! The manual says that HB is working with OS X 10.3.5 or later!!!!
Please reply asap

Apple doesn't suggest a downgrade to Snow Leopard 10.6 to MacBook PROs that are built-in late 2011 because there might be driver incompatibility...
So, is there any suggestion from Phonic?
I have equipment that i can't use!
Thank you in advance
well, I'm in exactly the same situation with my Helixboard Firewire 24 MkII...
just that, apart of having spent my money uselessly on a macBook Pro, it is also uselees on my HP laptop and my Win studio desktop, all of them using TI firewire chips... >:E
none seems to be tending this forum anyway so, is the web address 'getsatisfaction' just plain SARCASM or what?????? >:(
I'm a user of HB18 MK2 with ubuntu/ardour/Firewire (TI).
I heard about more problems of electric-power with the HB 24, that make it bad running. Perhap's you could get a look inside if the waranty is dead.
For Mac I'm not suprised, searching explanation about problems with latency or bad noise, I found that Phonic doesn't make drivers for Linux, and for what i know, doesn't give the technical informations to the ubuntu's developpers.
I was thinking that there is anti-trust low in US, Europ, UK to fight against the Microsoft King unchaining people with the under-business with their partners, like Phonic.
Perhap's you can tel me about that.
A lot of ubuntu users, are not very happy with Phonic and over brands who just want to take their money...
sorry for my bad english, i'm french, i'm also one of the 99% who don't like the big companies walking on their faces... ;)
merci Jeff... ton anglais est impec, pas de souci avec... ;)
no, I'm not aware of any such obscure plans, multinationals do not waste time or cash on such kind of wars with small companies as Phonic...
please mind also, firewire on macs do not need any driver at all, and latency is not an issue with FW gear...
...and Phonic's Windows drivers, (not only a cheapo chinese brand, but also american ones like Line6, which I've been working in these last 6 years until 2 weeks ago, as beta tester and support rep for most europe...) were not 'windows signed', which means they wouldn't pay any license to Microsoft
dunno, I guess I'll have to finally produce out the screwdriver from the drawer and try fixing the bloody beast... ;-/ I'll keep u updated guys!!
