My post was not a support message, it was a question. To a company to whom I have paid money. And your response is extremely rude.
Prior to your reply, I was not the least bit angry, just a bit baffled by the lack of recent responses here to questions. NOW, however, I am angry.
My Issue is this: I have installed Ego on my iPad 2 and it looks terrific. However, when I tap 'Add Widget', the list of available ones shrinks up and it becomes almost impossible to work with.
Also, the Mint widget (and yes, I do have the helper installed) doesn't seem to want to log in.
Whilst writing, and since we've set a tone already, perhaps I should draw your attention to the rating and reviews on the app store for Ego (specifically the iPad version). You have more unhappy customers than happy ones. I would suggest that a better approach to customer service will go a long way to helping that situation!
(Dear GetSatisfaction, where is the FURIOUS face in the 'how does this make you feel' section!?)
EMPLOYEEI’m encouraged0There are two ways to go about getting software support:
1. You can post a message detailing the issue you're having, with specifics.
2. You can post inflammatory messages containing "?!", inaccurate information, or sarcastic/passive-agressive comments.
You chose option #2.
Rather than posting ANYTHING about the actual issue you're having, you posted a message that didn't provide any useful way for me to help you, and instead made comments alleging I don't provide support (which seems to be based on the fact that you see me not responding to feature requests on GetSatisfaction as a lack of support effort--you should see my email support threads, I guess).
Your followup message, aside from the vitriol, did actually contain useful information. In fact, I immediately know what's wrong and I can give you support.
First, on the Add Widget issue:
Are you using iOS 5 beta? If you are (and I believe you are), you'll see this issue in Ego for iPad. iOS 5 beta is not a released version of iOS and therefore is not yet supported. Any bugs in Ego under iOS 5 will be addressed before the application is released to the public and no longer under NDA.
Second, on the Mint issue:
Have you verified you've both installed the Pepper correctly and have entered the correct information into the widget's settings? If so, then I can help you troubleshoot this easily off list. Just send an email to ego at gokarbon dot com.
At the end of the day, we're all just trying to do our jobs here. When someone both complains and is unhelpful, that makes my job more difficult and, quite frankly, is very frustrating and disheartening to deal with.
