Is it possible to recall an email that has already been read by one, or more, recipients?

It can! I use this feature frequently. Now if you do not disable forwarding and someone sends it in the clear, that version would still be readable. I think this is how it works.

Hi Tyler,
As Andrea mentioned, yes it is possible.
Recalling an email essentially corrupts and destroys the senders half of the key share.
With half of the share now gone, our system will not be able to validate therefore won't be able to decrypt the message for either party.
It will then display a message stating that the message has been recalled to both the sender and recipient.
Have a great rest of your day and we thank you both for contributing!
