Pixoto, Question on Community Contests

To Pixoto/Jasenka (only), On Community Contests, is the Moderator required, repeat required, to review all submissions to see if they match that contest's qualifications? Also, would you please provide all links to information Pixoto has put out on Community Contests (once referred to as Challenges)? Thank you!

Hello Bridgette, since this is community and every user has right to reply, if you want to address issue or question only to me or to Pixoto please send me e-mail (jasenka@pixoto.com).

Regarding your question here are guidance on all contest (they are stated when you click on "Create your own contest"):

"Fill out the form below and we'll create a dedicated page on Pixoto for your challenge. We take care of submissions, judging, assigning awards and paying out cash prizes (promoted challenges only). You decide on the "Judge's Award" (the top award) and disqualifications if necessary. You can share the photos on social media, license them for commercial use, or buy prints.

Your challenge will go through three phases:

    1. Submission – Contributors can submit photos to your challenge through your dedicated contest page. When the challenge ends you will earn one Pixoto credit for every image submitted.
    2. Voting – Submissions are closed and the voting begins through ImageDuel. You can assign a "Judge's Award" during this period.
    3. Awards – Once the voting is closed Pixoto automatically assigns award badges to the top images and notifies the winners. Winners will be featured on the challenge home page."

That being said, Pixoto will not interfere in how community contest are moderated.

    I hope this helps.

"You can share the photos on social media, license them for commercial use, or buy prints. "

Does this mean that the moderator gets rights to the photos entered?

Entering photos into a contest does not grant the moderator any license or rights. If they want, they can still purchase them if you have them listed in the market. Jasenka can clarify but I'm pretty sure that's how it works. I've moderated contests and have entered them as well. When I was moderator I wasn't granted any rights to use the images entered. Hope that helps.
