Viewing lower ranked art without going 24 at a time.

It would be great if I could get to the pictures that are not doing well without going through them 24 at a time. Could it be done by page numbers?

  • Hi Joseph,

This is the first request we've had to see the stuff at the bottom of the leader board. :-)

I don't know that page number pagination will work with our auto load navigation. We could potentially create a feature that would flip the leader board to show the lower ranked images first.

I guess the question that might helps us figure out how best to tackle this request is... why do you want to see the stuff further down the list?

Let me know and we'll go from there!

    Thanks.

  • Justin,

I like to see all of the images! It is a real pain to have to go through 5000 images to get to them so I would like to see this change. I am a photography professor so maybe that is the reason that I like to have access to all images. There is always the possibility that very good images end up near the bottom and not so great images end up on the top. Possible reasons:
Images not in the right category
Work is offbeat and doesn't really fit in to a particular category
Some subjects are more popular than others (not voting on quality,
    composition, content, etc)

I look at Pixoto as an educational tool! I'm more interested in getting a response to my images than winning an award. Although, It is nice to win an award! It's just not my motivation for participating. I'm really pleased that this sit is available and you guy do a great job! Thanks, Jo Brenzo

  • Hey Jo,

That sounds like a good reason. We will take this into consideration.

As a photography professor, are you considering having your students use Pixoto for their class projects? Is there anything we can do to make PIxoto exciting for photography professors and students?

This is something we have been considering.

    Thanks!

  • One reason I have so many points is that I use the dualimage function to talk about images with my students (the only easy way to see the full image). It gives me the opportunity to talk about techniques as well as the images themselves. Pixoto also adds to their excitment for their own photography. when and if I feel they are ready to participate, I encourage them to join. This is a fantastic site. Thanks, Jo
