Ease up on the amount of serves per dish. 600 is way too many for anything

600 serves of any dish is soooo unrealistic. . No restaurant/diner would have that many customers per day. Even per week..Not to mention the parking spaces needed at any given time. The cost to have that size parking lot? Plz cut the portions down which will cut down the cook time.
Make the dishes 100 serves plz.. It clutters our counters that can never go away for week.. We ,or at least I have been deleting the whole counter with 20k plus food that will take at least a week to be served. Thanks for reading and Considering my suggestion.

  • Hi Arleen
The idea behind the larger amounts of food is that most players probably don't play every day. The large stocks of food sitting by mean that they can leave it and when they come back, the food will have been served up and they'll have earned more coins :)

The numbers are simply an abstraction, Diner life as never been about realism :)

If it really bothers you, you can put the excess food into your Gift Box by clicking on the serving table and pressing the appropriate option.

    Best Regards

    • I agree with you DianneR

      What's the support team's priority ?

Occasional players that are happy still having food on their serving tables when coming back after a week, meaning they don't have to be faithful DL players ?

Or daily players that have to store away huge amounts of dishes in a gift box that is already glitchy?

As a daily player I have so many dishes on serving tables and gift box that I could easily go for months without cooking at all, and I'd still have huge amounts to serve...........

That doesn't really motivate me to cook much at the moment, but maybe that's the support team's intention ?
    • Trust me Rowan, I do sometimes put some some of my serves in the giftbox and bring them back to the game at a later date. I sometimes get bored seeing the same dish. Also some of the graphic height of a dish on counter blocks empty counters behind it, such as cotton candy. However I found a workaround by clicking the furnish icon and moving it to an end counter. That alleviates hidden counters..Never knowing what empty counter any given dish served will be placed .

    @ Rowan

I think you're wrong about us players.

I, and most of the people I know who play DL, play it daily, and more than only once a day.

I've read somewhere on the support wall that, while we're not playing, the servings don't go down much, and we're only making very few coins.

I do suppose that you'd prefer to have daily players for your game, and not players who only play occasionally.

With your latest addition, limiting us to 100000 of a dish on a serving table, it would really make sense to reduce the number of dishes cooked on a single cooking action.
    .
As to putting excess dishes in the gift box - regular players will now have huge amounts of dishes in their gift box, which doesn't make sense either.

Our gift boxes will now be sooooo overfilled that it will lead to problems. What will you do then ? Put a limit on how many dishes we are allowed in the gift box ? Be aware that by doing so, you would probably make regular players quit.

You might have to reconsider the purpose of a gift box. To me, right now, the gift box is no more than a *store future problems away* box.

    OK, throwing this out there.

we do receive food gifts from friends and this goes into the already count on 'food' that we already have.

so lets say we have 1,370,154 servings of irish stew.
3 friends gift the 4 serving of irish stew making it 12 more (thats not a lot), we accept that and that then makes 1,370,166 servings.

now we cannot just serve this new amount of 12 so we need to serve, 100000 at one time.... then the remaining 370,166

with this in mind we need to get 1,370,166 customers just to get rid of this current supply... (hoping this does not gather mould in the meantime :P )

Yet this is only 1 food supply, imagine all the other food gifts we have that are counting straight ontop of these servings :(
yet if we do not accept the gifts our friends will probably quit playing as they are not getting the 'gift returns' the coins back.... this is then losing players for you and we as players just like playdemand are also i'm sure, are want to help our neighbours and keep them happy.
plus also on the accepting gift page ~ note we have to clear some of these food items in order to see the send back gifts on parts, and ingredients that friends desperately need help with.

We all have an endless supply on foods and with gifting through friends we also need never cook. That being said this is still increasing the supply's daily.

Coins are limited enough in the game, and selling food takes a long time.

    Options that could improve this:-
1} we can re-gift food out in our gift box to our friends, in units of 10's, 100's ect...

2} we could sell for a percentage food in our gift box.
Example; so Grilled Chicken normal sell price is 9 coins so putting them on our servers and allowing them to sell would be lets say we have 10 Grilled Chicken that would be 90 coins through selling to customers....
Instead we can sell 10 for 45 coins in our gift box, its half the price but would generate coins, and also would stop having a 3 year supply on foods.

3} accept food or decline food ~ on the gifting page this could be a new option, but when declining would send back coins still to friends
or maybe send the gift they sent to us that we cannot use back to them so they can use it.

I would LOVE to be able to sell foods even if it was half price. my Gift box is so full i have been putting the foods on serve that have 20-100 serving just to clear space for the stuff that has THOUSANDS.

i completely agree with the option to sell off our surplus foods. right now we can only delete. it is almost cruel that is the only option as we used our coins and cash to buy the cooking equipment and coins to cook the food.... yes, discount it, but at least let us get some coins for trying to reduce the level of foods we have.

And Mr Rowan? I would bet real life money that more of your players play daily, and more than once a day
    • I can say with absolute certainty that you're in an extreme minority as daily players :)

That said, we do want people playing daily so any suggestions or remarks from our target audience is always welcome!

We've been laying the groundwork for wider changes with this alteration to the serving tables and the serving quantities will likely change in short order to fit.
Things are well in hand :)
    • Playing daily with different gifting options, not just food ~ what about gifting decorations?
as then theres greater gifting options, this could change weekly, or even daily, so the daily gift on day 1 could be #REF! and day 2 could be Coat Hanger! ect..
just different ideas i know but could be what makes some daily more...
tho i play daily regardless hehe

I don't think that selling at half price is a good idea.

These are a few prices that my menu gives me :

Baby back ribs cost 4 coins to cook and sell at 6 coins, so selling at 3 coins would be below ingredients price ;-)

Brain soup costs 2,5 coins, sell at 4 coins

BBQ banquet cost 4 coins and sell at 8 coins

Chocolate Fountain costs 2,5 to cook, sell at 3 coins only

Worst is Beef Stew, cost !!!! 10 !!!!! coins to cook, and sell at !!!!! 2 !!!!!! coins only

So I wouldn't like to sell for even less than 2 coins

.. Unless the prices shown in my menu are not correct........

    • I agree wit Brigitte W.selling at half price is not a good idea.Rowan the game to you is not about realism.....we still have to deal with it so give us a way that we can live with to sell the food.

I have so much food stored up that I would not have to cook anything for 6 months! Having a sell option would be great to get rid of all the extra food that is stored away that is not being used!

agreed! having a sell option for the gift box would be great!! even half price would be something and ALOT of the food in the gift box is food that has been gifted not cooked so it was free anyway and that would make up for the "loss" of dishes that cost more to cook than to sell out right..

  • Would love to have a sell option. I really don't know what to do with all the food. Another thing: Who is it that throw so big parties that they need such a big amount of food from the drive through? The Queen??

Yes, please limit the servings to 100, not many of us players, have that many neighbors to ask for help, especially when it comes to 1 or 2 day cooking times. The waiting time is too long and really does not give us a chance to help others.
