I’m frustrated

I think you have to do something about the dish pricing in Diner Life.

Could you please do something about the dish pricing in Diner Life ?

I'm a daily player, but with the actual pricing I'll have to stop cooking in 2 or 3 days from now.

I think that the relation price to cook a dish / price we get for serving a dish to a customer is not in a healthy relation.

If a player like me cooks on the allowed number of workstations every day, the coins in the diner keep going down more and more, without enough income for the diner to allow us to keep cooking.

Selling dishes from giftbox is not an option to resolve that problem, as that additional income does not cover the price we had to pay in order to cook the dishes.

The reputation of my diner is at 1000 constantly, and I go in to clean the tables regularly.

By doing goals or drive through orders we were able to get a little extra coins, which kept us going, but since there are no new goals and we're not being allowed to do the drive through jobs more than a maximum of twice, that extra income isn't there anymore. Although I believe that new goals and/or drive through jobs will only temporarely resolve the coins problem anyway.

If nothing is changed in the dish pricing soon, I'll have to go from a daily player to an occasional player, being able to cook only when I have enough coins to buy the dishes I want to cook.

    I totally agree with Rosy.

By cooking every day on the allowed 72 workstations, my coins go down by +/- 100000 coins per day.

Although I probably have accumulated more coins than Rosy, if it continues liike this I'll also get to the point where I have no more coins to cook in a few weeks.

So maybe that's also 1 of the reasons why you don't have as many daily players as you'd like.........

Without coins, no possibility to cook........

I also agree that selling dishes from giftbox won't resolve the problem. If I sell and get less coins than I paid to cook the dish, I will still get to the point where won't have any more coins left. This option only postpones the problem for a few days or weeks.

Could you please do something about that ?

    Thanks

  • All the prices are set at 50% of the overall sale value. So if you are charged 1000 coins you will get a total of 2000 coins back. If you just sell the items from the serving table you will make a loss on the food.

  • Sorry Elliot, but you're wrong.

At least in my diner, very few dishes are 50 % or the sale value.
The major part is less or even a lot less.

Maybe the 50% are correct for lower levels only, as I read somewhere that we get less coins for dishes the more we mastered them.

Here is a small list of the prices in my diner:

1st price buying price, 2nd price selling price

    hotdog 10 / 1 x 15
    freedom fries 20 / 1 x 30
    burger 20 / 1 x 25
    grilled cheese sandwich 200 / 7 x 50
    grilled chicken 300 / 9 x 50
    fish and chips 200 / 4 x 80
    grilled fish 500 / 3 x 300
    sunday 1000 / 4 x 500
    baby back ribs 200 / 6 x 50
    vanilla ice cream 200 / 3 x 80

So, out of those 10, only 1 dish is at 50 % sale value (sunday)

Considering the time it takes for enough customers to come in and eat (I am at 1000 reputation all the time and all the serving tables are filled) I think it is no wonder that the coins in my diner go down by 100000 coins every day I cook.

So I suppose that if nothing is changed, I will have to stop cooking every day in a few weeks.

  • Thanks for the complete list Elliot.

I suppose that you also saw that not all the dishes are at 100 % margin, as stated by you earlier.

So I guess I will only cook the dishes that are at 100 % and see how long I can keep my diner open. i.e. how long my coins will last in that case.

I still think that something needs to be changed either with the pricing or the number of customers that come in to eat.

I do not think it is normal that my coins go down by 100000 coins every day.

The unit price of the dishes must be increased and the total number units cooked must be decreased. This will help us earn coins faster while keeping the profit same.
    like
    Irish Stew
    Cost ................. ..3300
    unit price .......... ..22
    no of units.......... .300
    total sale price..... 6600

if we increase the sale price keeping the cost same
    then
    Cost ................. ..3300
    unit price .......... ..66
    no of units.......... .100
    total sale price..... 6600

we will get more per unit which will help us earn coins faster

Very good idea Ankush Ajmani, but as the support team does not consider this being a problem I doubt that they'll do anything about it

I agree that the food cost to much.....I am a level 156 player, and daily player it my reputation 1000..it is hard to cook daily, we can't get enough coins to keep up....if PD wants daily players make it a little less hard for us to gain coins.

What I don't understand is that over the last few days my coins have diminished rapidly but at the same time as running my diner I'm also looking after another for a friend while she's away, the odd thing is that I'm cooking exactly the same dishes for us both yet her diner is making a profit while mine is sinking. Any explanation please?

I'm not getting the stated sale price per dish. I have only Irish Stew and Pecan Pie on my serving tables, and I usually average 10 coins per customer, when it should be 21.

I thought the decreasing income was something I just imagined. I've noticed over the past couple of days that my income doesn't seem to change at all, even though I constantly cook and sell only high price dishes. If this is a gamewide issue, it needs addressing. Otherwise, we'll never be able to afford the decorative items in the game, which is part of the fun.

BTW I can only do drive-thrus once, no repeats. Some people must have a benefit from the past. :(
