LinkedIn Validation

I already have three websites on my profile on LinkedIn and it won't let me add any more - so apparently I can't be validated.

I’m trying to think of the best solution
    Hi fuzzyman,

We've received this feedback from several users, and we're working on a way to improve the whole LinkedIn validation process. One of the possibilities we've considered is allowing users to add the URL to a different part of the profile (the summary, for example), since LinkedIn only allows 3 official "links." We're open to more suggestions that users may have.

At this point, if you really want to validate your account with LinkedIn, you can temporarily change one of your links. After your account is validated on SpeakerRate, you can change it back.

I'll keep you posted about the status of this problem.

    Thanks for your feedback!
    • Actually - forcing me to publicly display a URL to your site feels like spam....
    • It's not meant to be spam at all. We actually wanted to bring a little more authenticity to the site by allowing people to associate a "real" profile that already has some value on the web with their SpeakerRate feedback and ratings. We want speakers to know that the feedback they're getting is coming from credible sources. It's meant in a constructive way, so we'll see if we can craft a better solution that gets that message across.

And, like I said above, you're in no way obligated to keep the SpeakerRate URL on your LinkedIn profile after you've validated your account. (We'd love it if you did, but it won't invalidate your SpeakerRate account if you take it down.)

  • I'm sure your intentions are honourable - just telling you what it feels like. As I said, I already have three URLs so couldn't leave yours on display.
