Can I 'lock' an image to the background? I have a campus map that I am overlaying images on and when I move the canvas to add my next photo, the previous ones are not lined up anymore.

Hello Julie,

Is your image set as a 3D background or is it just an image?

Thank you,

I uploaded it as a 3D background but I'm not sure if it needed to be a specific file type. My image is approximately 4000 px x 4100 px

Hello again,

A 3D background will move based on how you zoom. If you want to lock it in place, please upload it as a regular image. It will most likely have to be decreased to 2880x2880px or less, so it can be uploaded as an image.

Thank you,

Hey CT,

I think if you insert a background image it will go in as a 3D background and move with the zoom of your presentation. To 'lock' an image just upload the background picture using the insert tab on top (pictured below), then place it where you would like on your presentation. As far as lines and shapes go, the closest to locking is grouping certain parts of your Prezi together. To group different lines, shapes, and frames, hold shift and drag your mouse over what you would like to group together (also below). Here is the support page for grouping parts of your Prezi:

Hope this helps!

Dear Mike,

For my background image I used a .swf file which I imported by: 'Insert > from file (PDF, video)...'
Sorry but I am a bit confused... I do not understand what's the difference between 'background' image (which according your message appear as 3D image) and image as shown on your detached example. Please explain.

Cheers, CT

Here is an example of a 3D background:

Here is an 2D image as a background

The 2D image is easier to lock a specific part of your Prezi into as it doesn't move with the zoom.

Also you can import the .swf under insert>image

Does your .swf file not stay where you put it?

Hopefully that will clear up some things.

Thanks Mike,

Your prezi's about 2D and 3D background images are nice and clear.
Am I correct to say that a 3D background image you'll need to import in the theme wizard and a 2D background you import under the insert tab???

Is it still so that Prezi supports JPG and PNG formats only for 3D background images?

My 'background' image does stay (unless I select and move it myself :-), thank you!
But I cannot replace it, only delete, how come?

Everything that you said is correct. I believe .SWF is supported for the background as well but I'm not 100% on that.

And are you saying that you cannot delete your image and put a new one in? What do you mean by replace?

Is there anyone who knows for sure if .SWF is supported as background please?

Deleting the image and putting a new one in using the insert tab works all fine. That's not what I ment. What I am saying is my background image doesn't give me the option to directly replace the image (see attached image 01), whereas all my other images do (see attached image 02). Do you know how come? I am asking because 'replacing' images is extremely useful as it will keep the dimensions and keep the image in place..
