Hi, I need to send my prezi via email, to people who need to watch it offline. I don't know whether I'm supposed to send the whole folder or just the prezi file - both doesn't work. This is really urgent as I need to send the prezi tomorrow, so i really appreciate any help or idea...!

Thanks in advance,

karin

Hey there,

To share you prezi via email you can either download it as a portable prezi and attach it or make the Prezi public and share the link.

To download your portable prezi please follow the following steps.

1. Open the prezi
2. Click "download"
3. Check "export to portable Prezi" & Click "Download."
4. A window will appear saying: "Your prezi is ready"
5. Click the link below this saying: "Your downloadable prezi has been created. Please click this link to download the file."
6. A .zip file will be downloaded to your computer.
7. Decompress/Unzip this file to open up the folder to play your Prezi.

To e-mail the share link:
1. Click the Prezi you want to edit.
2. Click the envelope that says "share" - a window will appear.
3. Click the envelope to select email
4. Fill in the blank fields and then click send!

Good luck and happy zooming!

Regards,
Alex

Thank you Alex.

Both of the options you offered, I already did.
The link is not helping me very much, because I really need to send the presentation itself.

And as you explained, I downloaded the prezi exactly like that. Though, after unzipping it, the prezi cannot send via email, because the program says that the attachment is "not secure". So all I can do is send the whole unzipped folder via email. The problem then is that the recipient cannot open the folder.

Is there any other way, the downloaded unzipped prezi can be converted into another file so that it can be send via email?

Thank you a lot for helping!!!

Hey there,

That is a common feature shared throughout many different ISP's to prevent their users PCs from getting viruses. Please send the file without unzipping it and then instructing the recipient as I did to you, to unzip it.

Good luck and happy zooming!

Alex

I would also like to know why the file is so large (>100MB). I have to email the actual presentation to a conference organizer. Not the link but the presentation - is there a way to reduce the file size to be able to send via email?

I have found a way to make the downloaded prezi much smaller: You download the prezi for offline presentation. You unzip the folder. You take all the files of the folder 'content' > you only need this files. then you zipp the files of the folder content. This new zip is about 29 MB instead of >100 MB, so you can send this by yousendit.com. the prezi starts if you dubble clik on prezi.exe. Goodluck!
