Great service - but 3 features missing

Great service and really nice look and feel. However, to transfer it to real life, I think there are at least three things that need to be changed:

- Security: a deal-breaker - currently, Proposable automatically creates a short link (like bit.ly) with 6 characters. This needs to be changed to include a long "secure" link, to make it almost impossible guessing an address by trial and error. Additionally, username/password should be added as an alternative option.

- The print out option should be customizable. Many clients would still want to print out the proposal. Currently, the print out does not really look impressive.

- It should be possible for the client to actually confirm a proposal (with a nice button). The comment function is not enough, I think.

Other options (i.e. API, option to comment on each section separately) would be nice, but should not be first priority until the other problems mentioned above have been addressed.

- Security - I agree 100%

- Print - 100% on this one too, ideal if the system could give me a word/rtf that we can style a little. If the print just did a 1:1 on the web version minus the media stuff it would be a good first step. The created cover page is not good enough, I guess we could created the pdf and replace the first page with something else though...

- Comments - I think it would be helpful if the user could say whether it was a general comment or about that particular page.

Security and better print quality are definitely top top top top features. Wish list items include the ability to re-order the library items list view AND the ability to either copy a library item so it's editable in a proposal OR link a library item so any changes made to the source carry through to a proposal.

Those are three fantastic fantastic feature additions.

I'd also add that one of my top feature needs is some level of template customization. Even being able to chose some basic color palette options would be fantastic (think basecamp).

I agree 100% with these suggestions. I noted the lack of a password option right away. I haven't played around with the system enough yet to have noticed, but I'm surprised that comments aren't attached to specific sections. Seems like a no-brainer.

And I really don't understand why there's no way for a recipient to approve the proposal.

I really want to like this product and I think it's a superb idea. I'm just not sure I can justify paying $19 a month (or more) for a product that's not quite there yet.

I strongly encourage the people behind Proposable to consider a freemium option that allows people to take advantage of the complete functionality but limits the number of proposals they can send. Whet users' appetites, get them used to using the system. Enough of them will upgrade to a paid version eventually. See the story of Evernote.

Yes, the goal of the proposal is a signature to move forward. Secondary is the ability to collaborate for any negotiation. Good first direction in launching the system. I like the approach.

We implement sales process and systems for clients and ensuring a continuous process for the buyer experience is critical. It is not concrete enough for the buyer to either negotiate or sign.

I totally agree with these ideas. Printing a copy of the proposal results in a printed document that does not look very professional at all. At the moment, I can print a better looking document by simply using Word. And it is absolutely necessary for the client to be able to simply accept the proposal electronically. Otherwise, while your system is good, it doesn't offer me anything more than what I already do in Word. Your idea is great, but if it simply another version of what I am already doing, there is no reason to pay a monthly fee when I get nothing more than I already have for free. And security is very important. Effective June 1, many banks and credit card companies will be requiring strong passwords that have at least 7 characters including at least 1 capital letter and 1 character. You have a great idea, but why start off behind what the is already out there or will be out there in other industries and programs? If the above is addressed I will pay the monthly fee and use your program. If it isn't, I won't.

I totally agree on the customizable print version and the accept button. Without these feature the tool is not yet ready to use in our sales process.

Furthermore it would be nice if a client can accept the conditions that are being involved with a checkbox (eg. General Terms and Conditions).

Please let me know if these features will be implemented and we will for sure take a subscription!

agreed in all respects, also, once you leave a comment you shouldn't have to keep filling in the name and email info... very annoying form a commentor perspective

plus make easier to send the same proposal for different people in a company... at the moment I can send only 1 proposal to 1 person, I would like to send the same proposal for 5 or more people in a team

Proposable support: I am in the same position - I need a printable option. Currently I get blank pages and the left margin does not work when the background is printed - since I cannot control that on the customer's side I suggest either getting rid of the print option - as it really DOES NOT work - or fixing these. I will need to eliminate this as an option otherwise - and it is a GREAT IDEA! Any updates to look for so that I can use it?

Security just got a make-over, secret url tokens are now much longer (20 characters), and completely random, like this: 13632da7ef7667a2caa3. Your chances of guessing one of these numbers is roughly the same as your chance of winning the powerball lotto jackpot... three times in a row.

Proposal acceptance was added a while ago.

Print makeover is soon.

I agree with all suggestions

Im adding a few things to this mix.

1. Customizable template based outgoing emails ( I may have missed this in the settings )
2. More concrete signature process with IP tracking, etc.
3. echosign integration perhaps for enhanced security

I absolutely agree.

1. More concrete signature process with IP tracking
2. EchoSign integration for E-Signatures
3. Improved printing functionality. Perhaps.. you allow us proposable user's to upload their own pdf's and when the user clicks print it just prints that PDF document. That would be the simple solution.

Great product, but we really need these features. None of your competitors have them. Its time to lock and load.

I'll throw in a second vote for the freemium idea. We started a small company a little while ago that could use this functionality but can't foot $20/mo for something we can do almost as well with other services. But, once we start to grow would be happy to pay for this service. We already pay 10k/yr to other programs so the potential is there!

Wow, if these guys were complaining about the look and feel of the finished product 3 years ago either they were ignored or it must have been truly bad.
