How can I turn off the rich text editor?

I hate and despise websites using those rich text WYSIWYG editors with the burning passion of a billion suns. It's the first thing I disable on websites like Wordpress, and the day wordpress forces me to keep it on is the day I use something else. Spellcheck is built into Firefox, and I already know HTML. I neither want nor need autosave. For everything else, I have a word processor. Can we please have the option, both in our profile and everywhere else, to be presented with a regular old text box, without all the worthless WYSIWYG crap? If I'm going to be doing a large amount of writing on the website, I can't just put up with an interface I absolutely loathe. For now, I'll just stick to reading.
