Auto Upload Service - Custom Rule

The Custom Rule facility can be used to adjust 'raw' power values.

This can be used to remove solar generation at night.

e.g. if(power > 0 && hour < 4) power = 0;

The above resets power to zero when it's value is greater than 0 before 4:00 AM

Use the 'Test Rule' link to test your rule before saving the configuration.

More examples can be found via the 'Help' link.

Hi,

I have tried to implement the following rule:
if(power > 3500) power = 3500;

because my inverter is capped at 3500kW.

I have entered it, and tested it (using a value of 1700 rather than 3500 so that a change can be seen against the test values) and the rule appears to do what I want.

When I click save at the bottom of the page, PVOutput reports that my system updates have been saved.

But the next time I go in to the configuration screen, the rule has disappeared, so it doesn't look like it's taken?

I am also a bit surprised that it hasn't overwritten one of today's live values, but this might be by design?

You can now add a rule for SolarEdge devices.

However, SolarEdge is reporting your actual production, modifying the value is not recommended.

Thanks! Maybe I should leave it, but given the inverter I have is only capable of outputting 3.5kW, I don't really understand these readings. Perhaps it's just a slightly higher instantaneous power figure is needed in order to correctly calculate the energy produced over the 15 minute periods...

(But my generation meter reads a little lower than the figures that PVOutput produces - I guess because energy is not really produced linearly between the 15 minute readings)

I thought maybe capping it would help get the figures more similar.
