I use quicken for Windows 2015.  I'm remodeling my house and cannot access my PC.  Is there a way to access files on a tablet?

Not really.  Because with the Q Mobile App, the initial sync has to be performed from the desktop.

And, even then, only a subset of the info in the desktop app is transferred to Q Mobile.

And, remote software (which would allow you to operate the desktop from the laptop) would have to be set up on the desktop also.

I have access to my PC until Monday morning.  What would  I see on the Q mobile (what kind of subset)?  Is anything in the cloud?  I don't really know what that means or how to access that.

EVERYTHING that's visible on Q Mobile is in the cloud.
And you'd see banking and card accounts only.  No investments and no "other" accounts.
You should also be made aware that the Q Mobile app, in MANY circumstances, screws up your Q data file.

What type of tablet? iOS, Android, Windows (as in Surface Pro)

OP has QW2015, it doesn't sync investment accounts, does it?

The computer will be powered off and disconnected.  Will sharing still work?  That looks like a great answer.
No it will not work, the machine has to be on, and connected to the Internet since you are still using it.  What is happening is that the keyboard, mouse, and display are just being redirected to your tablet.

And on the question of investment accounts.
Only Quicken Windows 2017 has the ability to sync those, Quicken Windows 2015 doesn't.  And even if you have Quicken Windows 2017 what you would see for the investments is a "summary".  As in the totals and positions, no transactions.

You have not stated how long a period of time this is going to be for, or exactly how dependent you are on Quicken in for that period of time.

People using Quicken come to depend on it, and figure there is no way they can live without it, but in fact even though it gives a "clearer picture" sometimes its value is overrated, especially for a short period of time.

Here are some thoughts:
  1. Take the computer with you.
  2. Buy a cheap laptop, and put Quicken and your data on it.
  3. Use your financial institution's websites/apps.
  4. Use Quicken Mobile (but make sure you have good backups you can go back to).
  5. Try the above NOW, don't wait until you don't have access.

Just to be clear re: remote software, though it has to be connected to the internet, it can be allowed to go to into sleep mode (not hibernation mode) as remote software can wake it from sleep BUT it has to be able to connect to the internet.

@splasher...good catch...I believe QW2017 is needed to get investment data to sync too.
