credit card balance doesn't equal uncleared transactions

i'm looking at the transaction register. the balance for my credit card account is more than 2x the sum of the uncleared transactions. I think this problem started when I migrated from the Windows to the MAC version 2 years ago. Each month the reconciliation generally works fine so I wouldn't expect such a big difference.  Any suggestions on how to Fix this?  Addition a "fix" transaction will mess up the reconciliation process next month.

While fellows users would like to help, I don't think anybody can offer an answer as to how to fix your account. Why? This is a roll up your sleeves and figure out what is going on. We don't know your data.

How you approach this depends on how much OCD you have: you can figure out the source of the problem and correct, or you can simply reconcile and let it enter the one time adjustment. Then move on.

First place to look... are you missing payment transactions that didn't get recorded?

My OCD level is high - I've been implementing accounting systems for 30 years. I chased this down and found the error was in the transfer from Windows to MAC. Had to set up a new account in Quicken to resolve since other methods f'd up the standard reconciliation functionality.  Thanks for the replies.
