HELP PLEASE - SERIOUS PROBLEM, I THINK.

I just did my weekly Update Accounts action and a bunch of transactions were downloaded (I think) and there are little red flags to the left of a half-dozen-or-so accounts and clicking on the little red flag, Quicken says I have 2 transactions, 4 transactions, 3 transactions, etc. -- BUT none of the transactions are showing up in the Downloaded Transactions Area.

I hope this is something simple, but I have no idea what is going on.

Without going into a lot of detail. I guess I caused this problem by downloading a .QFX file (of my Sister's account) and opening it -- something I have been doing for 8-10 months now with no problems.  When I opened it, I was told by Quicken that I was trying to use an unavailable function and that I should insert my Quicken 2015 DVD and hit OK -- and foolish me, I did as I was told.  Nothing worked and Quicken tried to reinstall itself before I killed the whole mess.  I also had erratic Quicken behavior following -- but it seems to be straightened out now, except for the problem noted above.

Really need some help on this one -- I am afraid that I did something really bad.

Quicken 2015 Deluxe, Windows 10, No error messages -- except when I load Quicken now, it no longer has the advertisement to upgrade to Quicken 2017, and it goes immediately to my accounts screen -- probably Quicken is getting ready for Q2018 -- just thought I would mention it anyway -- as one of the few things that have changed.

THIS IS AN UPDATE ON THE NO ENTRIES IN DOWNLOADED TRANSACTIONS AREA.

Have found out that I can view the transactions at the Tools->Online Center (which is good), but when I click on "Compare to Register", Quicken just goes back to my checking account register and doesn't do anything (like highlight the register entry or offer any accept, delete, etc. options).

I have also discovered that if I click on the Help button (bottom right corner of Quicken window), I get Script Errors, the first one always says "Unable to get property 'appendChild" of defined or null reference" -- and I have to click No when asked about continue to running scripts about a half-dozen times to make the popup Error message to go away (don't know if this is related or not).

Also, I will mention that I ran Validate file last night -- and it completed successfully (No errors, No read errors, All internal consistency checks passed) -- but with several pages of transactions linked to accounts no longer in Quicken(??) and a list of transactions that appear to be damaged, some over a year old (??), but nothing to account for my current problem.

Hope this helps.

thecreator-

Thanks for the response -- and yes, I have since seen all of the problems and commotion over the problems caused by the QFX imports.  I am convinced that it has somehow corrupted my working copy of Quicken and just hope that the resolution will NOT require me to do a complete reinstall.

Some other people have mentioned that they are looking around for Quicken alternatives -- and I think it is time for me to do likewise -- particularly since I am seeing things like Quicken is now considering (testing it in Canada) a $90 / year subscription fee.

I am not a heavy user of all of Quicken's capabilities, but have 30+ years of historical information kept in Quicken.  But I am getting old, long retired, and the older I get, the less all this information means to me.  OK, enough of that -- except that I am going to start looking at other options -- and if you have any suggestions, I'm open.
